Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jimmy Noonan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ronnie Cordoza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ronnie Cordoza is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jimmy Noonan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ronnie Cordoza! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Robert Twigg and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cordoza is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Noonan's half guard. Cordoza slips a nice elbow through Noonan's hands, connecting with Noonan's forehead. Noonan tries to kick Cordoza off but Cordoza keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Noonan blocking the ground and pound attempt from Cordoza. Noonan trying to control but Cordoza postures up.
Cordoza seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Cordoza moves into side control, avoiding the strikes from Noonan.
Cordoza in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Cordoza decides to take the fight back to the feet. Cordoza looks to land a left hand but Noonan moved out of range nicely.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cordoza scores with a jab to the body. The fighters circle momentarily. Cordoza darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Noonan gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Cordoza counters with a left hand that sends Noonan to the canvas! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Noonan striking from the bottom.
Cordoza controlling from the top position. Cordoza postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Cordoza trying to control the position from guard on top but Noonan is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Cordoza stands up from Noonan's guard - Cordoza perhaps looking for a knockout.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cordoza misses with a straight left. Cordoza closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Noonan did well to prevent Cordoza getting side control. Cordoza working Noonan over with strikes. Cordoza has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Cordoza has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Noonan takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cordoza is landing with some decent strikes but Noonan is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Cordoza connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Cordoza lands a big shot to the head and Noonan winces in pain. He's tapped out due to strikes!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Ronnie Cordoza!
