PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Steve Austin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ricardo Rotoras (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Austin comes to the ring accompanied by Stone Cold Steve Austin's entrance music. Rotoras comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Remember the Name! kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Steve Austin!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ricardo Rotoras!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Shigeki Sano and Yukihiro Shimada.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rotoras shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Austin thows a body shot but no joy.
Austin scores with a crisp jab that stopped Rotoras in his tracks.
A looping hook to the body misses from Austin. Rotoras does a little dance to reset his feet.
Austin bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Rotoras's head backwards.
Ricardo Rotoras seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Austin throws a right hand that misses
and Rotoras counters with a left and a right that stings Austin.
Rotoras looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Austin throws an off balance right hand
and Rotoras makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Rotoras throws a poor cross that misses
and Austin makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Austin clobbers Rotoras with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Rotoras misses with a left hand
and Austin counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Austin is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Rotoras throws a lazy head kick
and Austin counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Austin lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Austin throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Rotoras misses with a takedown
letting Austin counter with a right hand.

and Rotoras counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Austin's guard now.
Austin has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Rotoras drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Austin manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Rotoras has Austin in his guard.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Rotoras had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Austin defends it easily.

Austin is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Rotoras pulls his head out easily.

Austin is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Rotoras's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Rotoras's back!

Austin bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Rotoras's guard.

Rotoras has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Austin can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Austin got a little sloppy there for a moment and Rotoras has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Austin has managed to get both his arms back between Rotoras's legs - danger averted.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Steve Austin just wasn't active enough.
Rotoras throws a right hand that Austin ducks under and follows up with a left that Austin also avoids with ease.
Austin is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

Austin is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Rotoras off and has taken his back!

Austin looking to break Rotoras's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Rotoras remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Austin will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
Rotoras manages to reverse the position and now he's in Austin's guard. Nice work there by Rotoras.

Rotoras is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Austin is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Austin has escaped and now he's on top!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

That was a close round but I would say that Steve Austin will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Austin is trying to get an arm triangle but Rotoras is defending well.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Rotoras is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Austin wants to lay and pray for a moment but Rotoras keeps working.
Rotoras is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Austin off and has taken his back!
Rotoras is not going to allow Austin to sit and survive in this position.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Rotoras doesn't have the hooks in and Austin manages to turn into his guard.

Rotoras turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Austin off and cradles Rotoras's limp body as Austin celebrates with his corner.
