The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice takedown defense from Diaz. No joy for Fintherfray on that attempt.
Fintherfray dodges the punch combination from Diaz.
No joy there for Diaz, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Diaz bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Fintherfray is rocked!
Fintherfray prevents Diaz from improving position.
Fintherfray is still in real trouble! Can Diaz finish him?
Fintherfray tries to bench press Diaz off him but Diaz keeps the position.
Diaz lands a few punches from side control.
Fintherfray is looking to regain half guard here but Diaz keeps moving and retains side control.
Diaz knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Fintherfray on the ground.
Diaz will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Fintherfray is trying to escape the position but Diaz is controlling the position.
Fintherfray tries to bench press Diaz off him but Diaz keeps the position.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Diaz dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Fintherfray seems to have recovered his senses.
Diaz swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Fintherfray drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Diaz is breathing heavily.
Fintherfray thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Diaz is in a bad spot here and he knows it... just holding on for now.
Fintherfray wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Diaz, who protects the arm well.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Diaz explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!
Fintherfray scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Fintherfray has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Diaz!
Fintherfray has hold of Diaz's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Diaz manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fintherfray swings around for an armbar and he's got it! Wow, that came out of nowhere! What a finish!
