The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Petkovic throws a chopping leg kick but Rain manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Dejan Petkovic seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Petkovic, right into the meat.
Petkovic lands with a nice body punch.
Rain throws a shot from downtown. Petkovic moves away and avoids it.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Rain bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
A nice inside leg kick there by Petkovic. That's going to slow Rain down.

Petkovic throws a leg kick which misses Rain's front leg but catches the back leg as Rain tries to avoid it.
Petkovic turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Petkovic throws a head kick that Rain semi-blocks.

Petkovic throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Rain throws a series of punches but Petkovic avoids them all with ease.
Petkovic throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Rain's waist but Rain gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Petkovic off to one side.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Petkovic.
Rain throws a body punch but Petkovic moves out of range.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Petkovic feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Rain not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Petkovic is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Rain really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Petkovic. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Petkovic pushes down on Rain's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Rain tries to roll over but Petkovic keeps him under control.

Petkovic tries to move to mount but Rain blocks the move with his legs.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Petkovic fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Petkovic in side control, throwing shots but Rain defends.
A lull in the action here as Petkovic stalls from top position.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Rain can do anything to dispel that myth.
