The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spartacus swings away with a body shot that misses
and Ruanti counters with a nice low kick that buckles Spartacus's knee momentarily.
Spartacus goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Ruanti throws a body punch but Spartacus moves out of range.
Spartacus stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Spartacus wants it to stay on the feet.
Spartacus takes a swing at Ruanti's ribcage but misses.
Spartacus throws a poor cross that misses
and Ruanti counters with a leg kick.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Ruanti throws a sloppy head kick and Spartacus moves out of range easily.
Spartacus misses with a left hand
and Ruanti counters with a solid body kick.

Ruanti tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Spartacus fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Ruanti manages to avoid it.
Ruanti lands a leg kick that knocks Spartacus off balance momentarily.

and Ruanti counters with a series of strikes. Spartacus will be more careful next time no doubt.

Spartacus checks the leg kick nicely there.
Ruanti lands a nice hook to Spartacus's body. Spartacus takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Ruanti connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Spartacus takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Spartacus throws a predictable looking body shot
and Ruanti counters with a shoot takedown. Spartacus fights it but they end up in guard.
Spartacus is rocked!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Ruanti drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Ruanti jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Spartacus is trying to keep Ruanti in close.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Spartacus misses with a hook
and Ruanti counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.

Mr Spartacus seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Ruanti counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Spartacus thinking.

and Ruanti counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Spartacus misses with a hook
and Ruanti connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Ruanti closes the distance and clinches up with Spartacus, looking for a takedown. Ruanti pushes Spartacus against the cage but Spartacus circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Spartacus misses with a shot to the body
and Ruanti counters with a nice body shot.
An inside leg kick lands from Ruanti.

Ruanti looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Ruanti is looking to wear down Spartacus with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Ruanti thows a body shot but no joy.
Ruanti swings for the body but Spartacus moves out of range.
Spartacus is sent reeling backwards by a solid uppercut. He barely regains his balance and Ruanti moves in for the kill throwing a continuous barrage of punches that force the ref to step in.
