PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tom Maury (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vladislav Emperor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Emperor has chosen Era as his entrance music. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Vladislav Emperor was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Maury gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Maury has his foot on Emperor's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Emperor works his way back into a safe position though.

Maury has an active guard here but Emperor has managed to pass into half guard.
Maury is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Emperor's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Emperor's back!

Maury has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Emperor has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Maury looking to break Emperor's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Emperor remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Maury will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

Maury is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Emperor knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Emperor for a finish.

I really don't envy Emperor right now.

Maury is looking for a choke. Emperor gets to his feet with his opponent on his back and slams him to the mat. Emperor manages to squirm out of the attempted choke and turns into his opponent's guard.

Maury will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Maury has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Emperor should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Maury has tightened it up now! Emperor should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
