Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Joe Joseph (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kris Kringle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joe Joseph!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kris Kringle!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Bruno Lombardi and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Joseph shoots for a double leg takedown but Kringle sprawls well. He's pushed Joseph's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Kringle scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Kringle missing with the ground and pound from half guard.

Joseph is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Kringle pulls his head out easily.
Joseph is trying to maintain the position but Kringle is very close to passing his half guard.
Joseph blocking the ground and pound attempt from Kringle.
Kringle trying to mount his opponent but Joseph defends it.
Kringle is keen to just control but Joseph is a slippery customer.
Kringle drops an elbow to the side of Joseph's head.

Kringle stops Joseph from getting back to his feet.
Joseph is refusing to be controlled, as Kringle sits in half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kringle not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Kringle looks to land a strike but Joseph avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
Kringle trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Kringle really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Joseph. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Kringle working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Joseph's head.
Kringle distracts Joseph with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Joseph is looking for a triangle but Kringle pushes his legs off easily.

Kringle thows a big elbow that misses.
Kringle trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Joseph manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!
Kringle preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Joseph pushing down on Kringle's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.

Joseph seems to be working for a kimura but Kringle defends the submission attempt.
Kringle works his way to full guard. Good work.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Joseph sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Joseph advances position into side control!
Kringle is not content to let Joseph control the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Kringle trying to remain calm as Joseph controls from the top position.

Joseph is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Kringle is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Joseph wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Kringle, who protects the arm well.
Kringle tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Joseph tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Joseph has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Joseph tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Joe Joseph will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!



Joseph decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Joseph prevents Kringle from improving his position.

Joseph is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Kringle sees it coming and defends easily.
Joseph is just content to waste time from the top position. Kringle takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Joseph tries to free his leg and advance position but Kringle is retaining full guard.
Kringle avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Joseph slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Joseph missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Joseph passes into half guard.
Joseph slips a nice elbow through Kringle's hands, connecting with Kringle's forehead.
Kringle is refusing to be controlled, as Joseph sits in half guard.
Joseph working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Kringle tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Kringle wants to improve his position but Joseph is controlling well.

Joseph is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Kringle defends it well.
Kringle tries to get to full guard but Joseph has control of the leg.

Joseph is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Kringle is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
