Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nathan Hakamalu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Manny Holt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hakamalu comes to the cage accompanied by Thunderstruck. This should be fireworks!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hakamalu darts in trying to clinch and Holt counters with a shoot takedown. Hakamalu fights it but they end up in guard. Holt pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Hakamalu is keeping the position for now. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Holt thows a big elbow that misses. Hakamalu tries to land a sweep but no joy. Hakamalu is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Hakamalu is looking to stall here but Holt recovers full guard. Hakamalu pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Holt is keeping the position for now. Holt is trying to keep Hakamalu in close.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hakamalu stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Holt swivels though and keeps the full guard. Hakamalu trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Hakamalu postures up in Holt's guard and throws a big left but Holt blocks it. Hakamalu stands and throws Holt's legs to the side, diving into side control. The ground and pound from Hakamalu seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Hakamalu trying to control the action but Holt is working from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Holt is trying to get back to half guard. Hakamalu misses with the ground and pound. Hakamalu is chipping away with strikes.
Hakamalu decides to take the fight back to the feet. Hakamalu misses with a lunging right hand
and Holt counters with a one-two to the body. Holt circles away from the clinch attempt and Holt counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Hakamalu! Hakamalu regains half guard. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Hakamalu manages to get to full guard.
Hakamalu has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hakamalu is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Holt trying to control the position from guard on top but Hakamalu is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Holt throws a big right hand that misses. Hakamalu is looking for a triangle but Holt pushes his legs off easily.
Holt wants to control from the top but Hakamalu keeps moving. Holt throws and elbow that misses. Hakamalu uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Holt's guard. Nice move by Hakamalu!
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Hakamalu looking to pass the guard. Hakamalu postures up.
Hakamalu lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Hakamalu postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Holt looking for a sweep. Not yet Holt, not yet. Hakamalu wants to pass the guard but Holt is keeping the position. Holt preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Manny Holt will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Hakamalu moves to clinch but Holt breaks away and Holt counters with a nice uppercut. Hakamalu darts in trying to clinch and Holt counters with a right hand to the body. Hakamalu shoots and misses and Holt counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Hakamalu lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Holt shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Hakamalu manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Hakamalu is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Hakamalu is thwarting Holt's attempts to control the position. Hakamalu frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
That's one minute gone in the round. Holt is trying to escape the mount.
Hakamalu breaks from Holt's wrist control and lands an elbow. Holt is wriggling around trying to escape.
Holt tries to hold on but Hakamalu pushes him away. Hakamalu trying to control but Holt is having none of it. Hakamalu unloads with some shots from mount but Holt bucks and avoids them well.
Holt regains half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hakamalu sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Holt defending well though. Hakamalu throwing shots but Holt is blocking nicely. Hakamalu wants to take a breather but Holt is having none of it. Hakamalu thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Nathan Hakamalu overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Holt regains full guard. Nicely done. Holt working a defensive guard here.
Hakamalu wants to pass the guard but Holt is keeping the position. Hakamalu stands and throws Holt's legs to the side, diving into side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Holt stops Hakamalu from passing to mount. Hakamalu misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Holt is trying to improve his position. Hakamalu looking to control but instead Holt has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard. Holt has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Hakamalu is working away from the top position though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Holt slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Holt avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Hakamalu distracts Holt with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Holt trying to control the position.
Hakamalu loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Hakamalu passes Holt's left leg - he's now in half guard. Holt has hold of Hakamalu's hands but Hakamalu slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Holt can do anything to dispel that myth. Hakamalu is looking to stand up but Holt won't let him. Holt trying to keep a closed guard but Hakamalu is proving a slippery customer.
Hakamalu is in close to Holt's body, working some short punches and elbows. Hakamalu trying to control the position from guard on top but Holt is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hakamalu wants to pass the guard but Holt is keeping the position. Hakamalu's corner is telling him to maintain position. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Holt controlling the position.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Nathan Hakamalu wasn't doing enough on the ground. Holt takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
It looks like Manny Holt has been cut. Hakamalu throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Holt counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Holt keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Holt throws a series of punches but Hakamalu moves out of range. Hakamalu with a poor takedown and Holt counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Hakamalu moves to clinch but Holt breaks away and Holt makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Hakamalu misses with a combination

and Holt counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Hakamalu's guard now. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Hakamalu had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Holt defends it easily. Hakamalu not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Holt stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hakamalu swivels though and keeps the full guard. Holt lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Hakamalu looking for a guillotine here but Holt defends easily.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Hakamalu working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Holt has passed into half guard!
Hakamalu is in trouble now - Holt has advanced to mount! Holt with shots to the head and body - Hakamalu looks very uncomfortable down there. Holt scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Hakamalu?

That's four minutes gone in the round. Hakamalu in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Holt working away from the top, dropping strikes. Holt connects with a bit shot that sees Hakamalu covering up! More strikes from Holt and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Holt is our winner by TKO!
