Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Zach Cooke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joesy Scott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cooke's entrance music is Mortal Kombat. A fine choice. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Scott misses with a double jab.
Cooke takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.


It looks like Zach Cooke has been cut.
Cooke throws a lazy uppercut
and Scott counters with a left and a right that stings Cooke.
Scott throws a right and a left that both miss.
Cooke shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Scott defends it nicely.
Scott misses with a two punch combination.
Cooke slips a jab and a cross from Scott.
Cooke gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Scott counters with a left and a right that stings Cooke.

and Cooke counters with a stiff right hand.
Cooke dives in and grabs Scott's left leg, looking for a takedown. Scott pushes down on Cooke's head and hops out.

Sloppy strikes from Scott. Those never looked like landing.
Scott swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Cooke counters with a nice double leg into side control. Scott won't be happy with that.

Cooke tries to score with some ground and pound. Scott controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Cooke wants to lay and pray for a moment but Scott keeps working.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Cooke throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Cooke thows a huge punch but Scott dodges it nicely.
Cooke stalling away here and it's allowed Scott to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
Cooke stays in close to Scott's body and controls the position.
Cooke tries to free his leg and advance position but Scott is retaining full guard.

Cooke cracks Scott with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Scott is trying to get back to his feet but can't.
Cooke throws a sloppy strike and Scott uses the opportunity to reverse the position! A bit of a scramble here and Scott has ended up in Cooke's guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Cooke wants to stand up but Scott is controlling him.
Cooke has a closed guard, preventing Scott from standing up.

Cooke manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Scott goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Joesy Scott is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Cooke drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

Scott lands a left and a right that sends Cooke crashing to the canvas! Scott dives into mount looking to finish!


Cooke is rocked!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Scott stands up from mount. Strange move.
Cooke shoots in for a takedown but Scott shows good takedown defense.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Scott takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.


Zach Cooke's cut is getting worse.
Scott throws a left and a right that both miss

and Cooke counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Scott looks like he's trying to stand up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Scott blocking the ground and pound attempt from Cooke.
Cooke with the ground and pound but Scott uses the opportunity to regain guard.
Scott wants to stand but Cooke is controlling the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Cooke is standing up over Scott. Scott looks to escape but Cooke dives into side control.
Cooke is looking to take a break and control but Scott is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Scott regains half guard, as Cooke was trying to land strikes.
Cooke seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Cooke is trying to control. Scott wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Scott keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Cooke has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Cooke trying to control from Scott's half guard. Scott has other ideas though and has regained full guard.
Cooke prevents Scott from getting back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Joesy Scott showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Cooke misses with a body shot
enabling Scott to counter with a crisp jab.
Scott lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Scott.
Scott fails to land with a series of punches.

Cooke scores with a nice right hand.
Scott slaps away a takedown attempt from Cooke, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Cooke dodges the punch combination from Scott.
Cooke throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Scott counters with a three punch combo that has Cooke backing up. Cooke nods at Scott to acknowledge the strikes.

Cooke shoots and misses

and Scott counters with a combination of strikes to the head and body that crumple Cooke!
Oh Cooke is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!


Zach Cooke's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Scott decides to stand up.
Scott is stalking Cooke. Cooke circles to his left. Keeps circling left. Bam! Straight right from Scott, and it's lights out! Cooke really payed the price for that rookie mistake.
