Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Carl Panzram (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Spinbob Cantrell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cantrell has chosen Scorpions - Winds of Change as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

13 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Spinbob Cantrell! The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Mauricio Rocha and Luis Engracia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cantrell misses with a right hand so Panzram counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Panzram landing with the ground and pound. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Cantrell keeping moving, preventing Panzram from controlling successfully. Panzram works over Cantrell with some ground and pound from guard. Cantrell is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Panzram looking to sit in guard and control but Cantrell gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Cantrell looking to pass the guard. Panzram keeping moving, preventing Cantrell from controlling successfully.

Panzram avoids a low kick by using good footwork. Panzram throws a big shot that misses. A bone on bone clash there as Panzram blocks the leg kick.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Panzram throws a lazy right hand but Cantrell sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Panzram misses with a looping left. Cantrell misses with a hook
and Panzram counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Cantrell's guard now. Panzram scoring with punches to the head and body. Cantrell is trying to control the position but Panzram postures up. Panzram postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Panzram lands a couple of elbows. Cantrell utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Cantrell keeping full guard, as Panzram tries to pass. Panzram will be more careful next time no doubt. Cantrell uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Panzram. Cantrell throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. Cantrell wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Panzram showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Cantrell.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Cantrell wants to clinch. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Spinbob Cantrell showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Carl Panzram's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Panzram passes the guard and advances to mount! Cantrell wants to hold on but Panzram pushes him away. Panzram prevents Cantrell from getting the reversal. Panzram goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Cantrell is on top in guard.
Cantrell must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Panzram keeping moving, preventing Cantrell from controlling successfully.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Panzram controls Cantrell momentarily but Cantrell frees himself. Panzram has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Cantrell trying to control but Panzram is working from the bottom. Panzram will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Cantrell pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Panzram is keeping the position for now. Panzram trying to keep a closed guard but Cantrell is proving a slippery customer.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Cantrell feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Panzram's calf. Panzram chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Cantrell can pounce on him.

Panzram throws a looping overhand right but Cantrell ducks down to avoid it. Panzram takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Panzram connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Cantrell throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. A good leg kick by Cantrell. Cantrell wants to clinch up but Panzram keeps it at a distance. Cantrell turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Panzram is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Panzram tries for a takedown but Cantrell circles away easily and Cantrell counters with an outside leg kick.
Cantrell tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Panzram paws at him with a jab and circles away. Panzram doesn't succeed with the takedown and Cantrell counters with a nice body kick. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Carl Panzram. That's going to take a lot out of him. It's got to the stage where if one of these guys blows hard enough, the other might fall over.

Cantrell throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Panzram checks a leg kick nicely. Panzram blocks a jab. Cantrell throws the kick towards the body but Panzram avoids it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Cantrell misses with a straight right. Panzram doesn't succeed with the takedown and Cantrell counters with a body kick that stops Panzram in his tracks momentarily.

Panzram on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Panzram has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Cantrell. Cantrell throws a combination. Panzram tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Ouch! a nice leg kick from Cantrell, right into the meat.
Both of our modern day gladiators look out of it here - an gruelling 5 rounds of action taking it's toll on them, no doubt.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cantrell throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Panzram sees it coming and avoids it easily. Cantrell missing with a left hand there. Panzram was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Cantrell misses with a hook
and Panzram counters with a lovely straight right hand! Cantrell throws a low kick but it's checked well by Panzram. Cantrell throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
so Panzram counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cantrell is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Cantrell slows the pace down in half guard. Panzram moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Cantrell wants to pass the guard but Panzram is keeping the position. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Panzram has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Cantrell has passed into side control.
Carl Panzram has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Panzram is looking to reverse the position.
And that's the end of the fight! Spinbob Cantrell comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Cantrell has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
