Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Wallid Ismail (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vitor Belfort (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Belfort has chosen Bate Pesadão as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Wallid Ismail! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
14 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Vitor Belfort! The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Seu Braga and Alexandre Firmino.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ismail shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Belfort's guard. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Belfort holds on and takes a little breather. Ismail prevents Belfort from getting back to his feet. Ismail slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Wallid Ismail just wasn't active enough. Belfort missing with a left hand there. Ismail was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Belfort tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Ismail was well out of range. Poor timing from Belfort.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ismail has his takedown stuffed and Belfort counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Ismail misses with a takedown attempt and Ismail takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Belfort throws a poor cross that misses
and Ismail counters with a stiff right hand. Ismail misses with a straight left. Ismail on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Ismail fails with the takedown enabling Belfort to counter with a crisp jab. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Wallid Ismail. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Belfort misses with an uppercut
and Ismail counters with a shoot takedown. Belfort fights it but they end up in guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Ismail won't allow Belfort to get back to his feet. Belfort is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Ismail's corner is telling him to maintain position.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Belfort lands a jab to the head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Belfort looks to land a right hand but Ismail moved out of range. Ismail shoots in and bounces Belfort off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Ismail looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Ismail trying to control but Belfort is working from the bottom.

We're going to have a standup here because Wallid Ismail wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Ismail walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Ismail misses with a takedown attempt enabling Belfort to counter with a crisp jab. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Ismail ducks under a wild hook from Belfort. Belfort throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Ismail sees it coming and avoids it easily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Vitor Belfort dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Ismail gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Ismail takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Belfort missing with a left hand there. That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Sloppy strikes from Belfort. Those never looked like landing. Ismail misses with a takedown attempt and Belfort counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Ismail is trying hard to land a takedown here. Belfort sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Wallid Ismail. That's going to take a lot out of him. Ismail shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Ismail was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Belfort is trying to escape the mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ismail tries to control but Belfort wriggling away. Ismail misses with a head shot. Ismail looking to control and managing it successfully.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Belfort is working to get back to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Vitor Belfort will probably get the nod - 10:9. That's time! Ismail's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!
Ismail with a lazy takedown attempt and Belfort counters with a lovely straight right hand! Belfort throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Ismail keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Belfort is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. Ismail clinches. Belfort misses with the head strike.
Belfort tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Ismail's elbow. Belfort breaks from the clinch.
A momentary lapse in concentration from Belfort enables Ismail to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Belfort manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Belfort looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Belfort trying to keep a closed guard but Ismail is proving a slippery customer.

Vitor Belfort has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Ismail uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Belfort. Ismail lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
It looks like Vitor Belfort has been cut. Belfort throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Ismail counters with a takedown into side control. Ismail taking a breather here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Belfort wants to get back to his feet. Belfort is trying to control Ismail's posture but Ismail avoids it. Ismail trying to control the action but Belfort is working from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Ismail passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Belfort! Wallid Ismail overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Ismail controlling the pace for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Wallid Ismail has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Belfort bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
And that's the end of the fight! Wallid Ismail showed his dominance in that final round. I think Belfort has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
