Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ben Wells (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ricardinho Pancada (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ricardinho Pancada will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
11 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ben Wells! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ricardinho Pancada! The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Mauricio Rocha and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pancada uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Wells. A looping hook to the body misses from Pancada. Wells does a little dance to reset his feet. Pancada closes the distance but Wells moves to the side and Wells counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Pancada tries for a takedown but Wells circles away easily and Wells cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Pancada throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Wells. Pancada throws a sloppy head kick and Wells moves out of range easily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Pancada throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Wells counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Wells scores with a hook to the body. Pancada takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Pancada misses with a takedown and Wells counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wells misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Pancada counters with a straight right hand. Pancada's corner calls for a 1-2. Pancada obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
It looks like Ben Wells has been cut. Pancada throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Wells on the side of the head. Pancada misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Pancada takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Pancada with a lazy takedown attempt and Wells counters with a nice body shot. Ben Wells has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ricardinho Pancada. Pancada throws an off balance right hand
and Wells counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Pancada tries to clinch up and Wells counters with a shoot takedown. Pancada fights it but they end up in guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wells cracks Pancada with a solid left hand. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Wells trying to control the position from guard on top but Pancada is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Wells trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Wells scoring with some ground and pound. Wells stands up over Pancada, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Wells throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Wells working some strikes from top position. Wells has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Wells passes easily into side control. Nice work. Wells lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Pancada down.
Pancada tries to buck Wells off but Wells is having none of it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wells creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Pancada sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Pancada manages to work his way to half guard, despite Wells's best efforts. Wells is keen to just control but Pancada is a slippery customer. Wells throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Wells working the head and body with strikes. Wells missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Wells is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Pancada reverses the position - he's now on top in Wells's guard. Wells trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Pancada sitting in guard here, content to control. Wells lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Pancada! Pancada takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Wells thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Pancada tries to reverse the position but Wells maintains control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ben Wells dominated that round. The cut man is working on Ben Wells's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Pancada defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Wells. Pancada moves in looking to clinch but Wells pushes him off. Wells circles away from the clinch attempt and Wells counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Pancada is looking to clinch but Wells is avoiding it.

Ricardinho Pancada seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Wells throws a right and a left that both miss. Pancada tries to clinch but Wells is having none of it. Wells throws a hook but Pancada blocks it. Wells swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Pancada throws a combination that misses and Wells counters with a single leg into guard. Pancada didn't expect that. Pancada is trying to control the position but Wells postures up.

Wells tries to reverse the position but Pancada maintains control. Wells is working hard here to advance position. Pancada controlling from the full mount. Pancada can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Wells is looking to escape.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wells is trying desperately to improve position. Pancada sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. BOOM! Pancada connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Pancada tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Ricardinho Pancada will probably get the nod - 10:9. The cut man is working on Ben Wells's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

and Wells counters with a nice double leg into side control. Pancada won't be happy with that. Pancada dodges the ground and pound from Wells. Wells lands some shots froms side control. Wells misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Ben Wells overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Wells creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Pancada sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Pancada sneaks back into half guard. Wells is nestled in close to Pancada, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Wells wants to lay and pray for a moment but Pancada keeps working. Pancada tries to get to full guard but Wells has control of the leg. Pancada gets full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wells throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Pancada looking to control but Wells passes into half guard.
Pancada is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Wells thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Pancada wants to control but Wells passes into side.
Pancada is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Wells controlling the action here. Wells is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Wells throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Pancada works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Pancada wants to stand and escape but Wells is having none of it. Wells scoring with some ground and pound. Wells postures up in Pancada's guard and throws a big left but Pancada blocks it. Pancada not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Pancada avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Wells postures up and lands a big shot to Pancada's brow.
And that's the end of the fight! Ben Wells showed his dominance in that final round. Well Wells has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
