Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dante Kai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Baxter Morgan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Baxter Morgan has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Baxter Morgan!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Bruno Hogan and John Mangel.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kai tries for a takedown but Morgan sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Morgan looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Morgan stuffs the takedown.

Kai gets the takedown into side control.
Morgan tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Kai wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Kai has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
A combination from Morgan does no damage.
Kai fails with the takedown.

Kai shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Morgan as he avoids it easily.
Kai tries to close the distance and clinch up but Morgan swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Kai looks to land a combination. Morgan sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Kai pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Kai wants to clinch up but Morgan keeps it at a distance.

Kai misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Kai throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Morgan connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Kai ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Morgan moves away.
Morgan lands with a hook. Kai tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Morgan lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Kai steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Morgan. That one must have hurt.

Morgan has Kai up against the cage in a clinch.
Morgan lands a hook that snaps the head of Kai backwards.

Kai pulls guard effortlessly.

Morgan gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Morgan tries to close the distance and clinch up but Kai swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Kai darts in trying to clinch
and Morgan counters with a two punch combo.
Kai fails with a takedown attempt.

Kai clinches up with Morgan and pushes him back against the cage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Kai jumps guard but Morgan stands there with Kai around his waist. Kai gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Kai has picked Morgan up - he's going for a ride! Kai dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Kai prevents Morgan from improving his position.

Morgan is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Kai pulls his head out easily.
Morgan wants to control but Kai is keeping busy.

Morgan tries to roll over but Kai keeps him under control.
Morgan slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Kai fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Morgan lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

and Morgan counters with a low kick, right behind Kai 's knee.

and Morgan counters with a series of strikes. Kai will be more careful next time no doubt.

Morgan circles away from the clinch attempt.

and Morgan counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Morgan is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

Morgan wants to stand but Kai has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
Kai is pressing down on Morgan's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Kai is trying to keep Morgan in close.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Kai pushes Morgan off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Kai throws a lazy head kick

so Morgan counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Dante Kai will probably get the nod.

Kai shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Morgan can't escape the position.
Morgan wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.
Kai keeps control of the position easily here as Morgan tries to buck him off.
Kai is hanging on to Morgan's back as he tries to escape.

Kai sinks in the hooks and is looking for the choke. He's got it! Morgan taps out!
