Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Theodore Matsuoka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sam Synephrine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Synephrine is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Hammerfall - Hearts On Fire . The key to victory for Theodore Matsuoka has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Theodore Matsuoka! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sam Synephrine! The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Steve Smith and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Synephrine clinches up with Matsuoka and pushes him back against the cage. Synephrine is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Matsuoka can't fight it off and eventually Synephrine manages to take the fight to the floor. Matsuoka looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Synephrine in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Synephrine throwing strikes from guard but Matsuoka blocks nicely. Matsuoka knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Synephrine on the ground. Synephrine forces his way into half guard. Synephrine passes to side control. Synephrine is looking to take a break and control but Matsuoka is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Synephrine thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
That's one minute gone in the round. Synephrine tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Synephrine has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Synephrine stands up and we're back to a striking position. Theodore Matsuoka is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Nice sprawl there from Matsuoka as Synephrine shoots in. A combination from Matsuoka does no damage. Synephrine looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Synephrine throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Matsuoka's waist but Matsuoka gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Synephrine off to one side. Theodore Matsuoka has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sam Synephrine.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Synephrine drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Synephrine looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Synephrine is working to tighten is grip on Matsuoka's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Matsuoka has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Synephrine is really squeezing tight and eventually Matsuoka passes out! Synephrine breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
