Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Scott Thorpe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jay Jay Cunners (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Thorpe comes into the arena with Metal on Metal by Anvil blaring out of the sound system. Jay Jay Cunners has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jay Jay Cunners! The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Ian Loll and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cunners misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Cunners drops Thorpe with a beautiful combination! Thorpe stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Cunners is looking for the KO!
It looks like Scott Thorpe has been cut. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Cunners lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Thorpe keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. No luck with that takedown attempt from Thorpe. Cunners throws a push kick but Thorpe slaps the foot to one side. Cunners falls off balance throwing a combination
and Thorpe counters with a nice double leg into guard. Thorpe stopping the sweep attempt from Cunners. Thorpe trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Cunners seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Thorpe working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Cunners's head. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Cunners can do anything to dispel that myth.
That's one minute gone in the round. Thorpe is looking to work some ground and pound but Cunners has wrist control. Cunners working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Thorpe. Thorpe loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Thorpe postures up in Cunners's guard and throws a big left but Cunners blocks it. Thorpe scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Thorpe thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Cunners wants to stand but Thorpe is controlling the position. Thorpe scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Thorpe trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Thorpe trying to control the position from guard on top but Cunners is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Thorpe would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Cunners keeping full guard, as Thorpe tries to pass. Thorpe has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Thorpe tries to stand but Cunners is controlling from the bottom. Thorpe trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Thorpe distracts Cunners with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Thorpe wants to control from the top but Cunners keeps moving. Thorpe postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Thorpe is looking to work some ground and pound but Cunners has wrist control. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Thorpe stands and steps away. Cunners gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Cunners pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Thorpe back to the cage. Cunners follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Scott Thorpe's cut is getting worse. Cunners shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Thorpe but Thorpe pushes him off and we're back to square one. Scott Thorpe has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jay Jay Cunners. Cunners looks gassed! Thorpe shoots in looking for a takedown but Cunners manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Thorpe's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Thorpe shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Cunners's guard. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Thorpe working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Cunners looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Cunners is trying to keep Thorpe in close.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Scott Thorpe dominated that round. The cut man is working on Scott Thorpe's cut. That's time! Thorpe's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Cunners gets caught napping as Thorpe dives in and scores a takedown. Cunners manages to retain guard. Thorpe scoring with some ground and pound. Scott Thorpe overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Thorpe stands up over Cunners, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Thorpe throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Thorpe throws and elbow that misses. Cunners uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Thorpe's guard. Nice move by Cunners! Cunners trying to control but Thorpe is working from the bottom. Cunners is fighting to break Thorpe's control of his arms but Thorpe is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Cunners trying to control but Thorpe is working from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cunners with a flurry of punches that miss. Cunners must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Cunners drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Thorpe dives on top into guard. Thorpe wants to control from the top but Cunners keeps moving. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Cunners is on top in guard.
Thorpe has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Cunners off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds. Cunners misses with a double jab.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Thorpe shoots in looking for a takedown. Cunners tries to sprawl out of it but Thorpe keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Cunners manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Cunners throws a shot to the body.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Cunners ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Thorpe shoots in looking for a takedown. Cunners tries to sprawl out of it but Thorpe keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Cunners manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Cunners is looking for a takedown here. That's three minutes gone in the round. Thorpe is staying active underneath Cunners, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Cunners is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Cunners thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Thorpe's head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cunners looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Thorpe with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Thorpe desperately trying to maintain half guard. Cunners working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Thorpe's thigh. Thorpe counters though and makes it back to full guard. Cunners stands up from guard. Let's bang! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Cunners moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Jay Jay Cunners will probably get the nod - 10:9. The cut man is working on Scott Thorpe's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Cunners rushes Thorpe and presses him up against the cage. Thorpe trying to land knees to the body.

Cunners is trying to push Thorpe away but Thorpe has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Cunners looking for a takedown. Thorpe tries a knee to the head but Cunners blocks it.
Cunners cracks Thorpe with a nice body shot. Cunners escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Thorpe won't allow Cunners to get back to his feet. Cunners wants to sweep but no luck. Thorpe trying to control the position from guard on top but Cunners is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Thorpe wants to stand but Cunners has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cunners looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Cunners keeping full guard, as Thorpe tries to pass. Thorpe passes Cunners's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Thorpe is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Thorpe avoids the attempt from Cunners to control. Thorpe can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Cunners is looking to escape.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cunners working to try and regain half guard.
Thorpe is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Cunners can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

That's four minutes gone in the round. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Thorpe fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Thorpe takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Thorpe dominating with strikes here. Cunners is in a horrible position here. Thorpe smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Thorpe controlling the position easily from mount. Thorpe is landing with some decent strikes but Cunners is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Thorpe with shots to the head and body - Cunners looks very uncomfortable down there. Thorpe raining down hammerfists from mount.
And that's the end of the fight! Scott Thorpe showed his dominance in that final round. I think Thorpe has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
