Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between John McDowell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carollo Pavlacci (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, John McDowell! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Carollo Pavlacci! The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Robert Douchet and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pavlacci shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as McDowell sprawls well. McDowell wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Pavlacci gets slowly back to his feet. Pavlacci slips a jab and a cross from McDowell.
A nice combination there by McDowell.
McDowell misses with a series of wild punches.
Pavlacci has taken the fight to the clinch.
McDowell wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
McDowell manages to break the clinch.
Pavlacci should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. McDowell misses with the combination.

and Pavlacci counters with a three punch combo that has McDowell backing up. McDowell nods at Pavlacci to acknowledge the strikes. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! McDowell throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Pavlacci counters with a solid body kick. McDowell is breathing heavily. McDowell keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Pavlacci takes the fight into the clinch. Pavlacci breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. McDowell throws a left and a right that both miss
and Pavlacci counters with a shoot takedown. McDowell fights it but they end up in guard. Pavlacci slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Pavlacci lands a couple of decent looking shots.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pavlacci sitting in guard here, content to control. McDowell keeping moving, preventing Pavlacci from controlling successfully. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Pavlacci might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control McDowell kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Carollo Pavlacci. McDowell swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Pavlacci counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Pavlacci not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Pavlacci not landing any meaningful shots this time.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pavlacci stands up and beckons McDowell to join him on the feet. Pavlacci will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. John McDowell has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Carollo Pavlacci. Pavlacci moves into range and clinches up with McDowell. Pavlacci can't get the takedown.
Pavlacci lands on the inside with an uppercut. Pavlacci has McDowell pushed against the cage. Pavlacci has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but McDowell regains guard immediately. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Pavlacci looking to pass the guard. Pavlacci trying to control the position from guard on top but McDowell is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. McDowell looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
That's three minutes gone in the round. McDowell can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Pavlacci controls the pace. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. McDowell wants to get back to his feet but Pavlacci is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Carollo Pavlacci hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. McDowell defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Pavlacci. McDowell misses with a double jab
and Pavlacci moves into the clinch. McDowell is looking to break free of the clinch but Pavlacci has double underhooks. Pavlacci lands an uppercut. Pavlacci drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Pavlacci breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. John McDowell is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Pavlacci fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but McDowell avoids it really well and circles away. McDowell dips to his left and cracks Pavlacci with an uppercut! McDowell swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Pavlacci counters with a nice double leg into guard. Pavlacci trying to control the position from guard on top but McDowell is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Pavlacci has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Pavlacci thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Pavlacci working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Pavlacci gets to his feet. McDowell looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Carollo Pavlacci dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
The fighters circling - McDowell throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Pavlacci lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. McDowell falls off balance throwing a combination
and Pavlacci counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Pavlacci. Pavlacci working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Pavlacci gets to his feet. McDowell looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Pavlacci changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. McDowell tries to avoid it but Pavlacci manages to keep hold of a leg and drag McDowell to the ground. McDowell escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. McDowell throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Pavlacci changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. McDowell looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! McDowell is trying to buck Pavlacci off. McDowell is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. McDowell on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if McDowell tries to get out of the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pavlacci stands up and beckons McDowell to his feet. Pavlacci shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with McDowell but McDowell pushes him off and we're back to square one. John McDowell seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Pavlacci misses with a body kick. Pavlacci tries to clinch up but McDowell circles away and keeps his distance. Pavlacci clinches. Pavlacci jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as McDowell walks away with a smile on his face. Pavlacci gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. John McDowell has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Carollo Pavlacci. McDowell misses with a double jab.

and Pavlacci decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in McDowell's guard. Pavlacci decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. McDowell misses with a double jab
and Pavlacci holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. McDowell can't break the clinch.
Pavlacci gets a trip takedown into half guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Pavlacci works his way into side control. Carollo Pavlacci has got the better of the ground game so far. You can see the frustration on McDowell's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. McDowell takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Pavlacci tries to score with some ground and pound. McDowell controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pavlacci decides to stand back up. McDowell closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Pavlacci forces McDowell back against the cage and clinches. Pavlacci breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. McDowell throws a left and a right that both miss

McDowell looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. McDowell defending well as Pavlacci loads up on a big left hand. McDowell misses with a combination
so Pavlacci counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Pavlacci has been the more effective fighter overall so far. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! McDowell is trying to keep Pavlacci in close.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Pavlacci seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but McDowell does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Pavlacci decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet. McDowell misses with a double jab
and Pavlacci counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps McDowell thinking. McDowell throws a right and a left that both miss. Pavlacci shoots for a takedown but McDowell saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. A punch combination from McDowell misses. Pavlacci fails with an attempt to clinch.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. McDowell misses with a combination
so Pavlacci counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. McDowell pulls Pavlacci in close to prevent any damage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Carollo Pavlacci showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Pavlacci controlling the pace. Pavlacci is trying to control the action in half guard but McDowell is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Pavlacci stands up from half guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Pavlacci shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Pavlacci is working for a guillotine from mount but McDowell frees his head quite easily.

That's one minute gone in the round. Pavlacci takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The referee warns McDowell that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Pavlacci looking to control but McDowell is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Pavlacci scores with a couple of good head shots there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Pavlacci unloading with bombs! Pavlacci controlling the pace for now. Pavlacci lands a big shot there that rocks McDowell but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Pavlacci tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Pavlacci lands with some vicious ground and pound - can McDowell hang on? Pavlacci lands a heavy elbow.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pavlacci with some aggressive grappling here, looking for the finish.
McDowell is trying to get back to his feet but can't. John McDowell has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Pavlacci is in the full mount, landing strikes. Pavlacci lands a big elbow. Pavlacci has control of McDowell's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and McDowell regains control of the situation pretty easily.
McDowell knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Pavlacci on the ground. Pavlacci throwing shots from mount but they're not landing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. McDowell is looking to improve his position but Pavlacci isn't that keen on the idea. Pavlacci working the ground and pound effectively.
McDowell working to try and regain half guard.
McDowell wants to control but Pavlacci is having none of it. McDowell is squirming around, avoiding Pavlacci's attempts to control the action.
And that's the end of the fight! Carollo Pavlacci comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Pavlacci winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
