PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Iron Tager (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fred Palowakski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tager's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, MOTOR HEAD. The crowd seem to be enjoying Palowakski's choice of entrance music: Burning Down the House. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Iron Tager!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Fred Palowakski!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Emerson Jorge and Paulo Santos.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Tager darts in and clinches Palowakski up against the cage.

Tager tightens his grip and picks Palowakski up, before dumping him to the ground. Palowakski manages to land in guard.
Palowakski can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Tager controls the pace.
Tager stopping the sweep attempt from Palowakski.
Palowakski avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Palowakski wants to sweep but no luck.
Tager throws and elbow that misses. Palowakski uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Tager's guard. Nice move by Palowakski!

Palowakski postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Tager is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Palowakski, into his guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Tageris looking to pass into half guard but Palowakski pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Palowakski is in guard.
Tager seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Palowakski trying to control but Tager is working from the bottom.
Tager seems keen to control Palowakski's posture.
Palowakski trying to control the position from guard on top but Tager is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Tager moves out of range of the strikes.

Tager drops down looking for an ankle pick but Palowakski pulls his leg out and moves away.
Tager uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Palowakski.
Palowakski stuffs the takedown.

Tager throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Palowakski was covering up waiting for the punch and Tager finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Tager throws a big right hand that misses.

Tager in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Tager throws an elbow but Palowakski slips to the side and avoids it well.
Palowakski is looking for a sweep.
Tager wants to control for a moment but Palowakski uses the opportunity to move back to half guard.
Tager missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Iron Tager dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Tager looks for a takedown but Palowakski sprawls well.

Palowakski gets caught napping as Tager dives in and scores a takedown. Palowakski manages to retain guard.

Tager postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Palowakski is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Tager, into his guard.

Tager looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Palowakski passes into side control.

Palowakski tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Tager tries to bench press Palowakski off him but Palowakski keeps the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Tager is looking for a sweep.

Palowakski is trying to get an arm triangle but Tager is defending well.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Iron Tager just wasn't active enough.

Palowakski wants to sweep but no luck.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Iron Tager will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Iron Tager showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Tager, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
