PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Josip Ruzic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Kellerman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kellerman has chosen Foo Fighters - Everlong as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Steven Brown and Chris Edwards.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ruzic blocks a head kick by Kellerman.
Ruzic throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kellerman's waist but Kellerman gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Ruzic off to one side.

Kellerman drives through with a takedown into guard.

Ruzic is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Ruzic looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Kellerman wants to control from the top but Ruzic keeps moving.

Ruzic escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Kellerman gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Kellerman works over Ruzic with some ground and pound from guard.
Kellerman really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ruzic. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Kellerman lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Ruzic bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Kellerman's guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kellerman doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Ruzic tries to free his leg and advance position but Kellerman is retaining full guard.

Kellerman working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Ruzic doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Ruzic manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Kellerman looks gassed!

Ruzic is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Ruzic stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kellerman swivels though and keeps the full guard.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.

Ruzic closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Ruzic has an Americana. Kellerman didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Ruzic is delighted and gyrates infront of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Ruzic hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
