PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Khun Rayn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and All Inn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Khun Rayn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 1 - 1, fighting out of New York, All Inn!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Eddie Farnsworth and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rayn throws a poor cross that misses
and Inn counters with a right hand to the body.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Inn uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Rayn.
Rayn scores with a nice head shot.
Inn displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Rayn throws out the jab.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Inn moves away from the strike by Rayn.
Rayn dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Nice body punch from Inn.
Inn has his takedown stuffed
and Rayn counters with a left to the body.
Inn ducks right into an uppercut from Rayn.
Rayn keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Rayn misses with an uppercut. Inn saw that one coming.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Rayn misses with a wild body shot.
Rayn tries to land a body kick
and Inn counters with a nice uppercut.
Rayn keeps Inn at a distance using the push kick.
Rayn thows a body shot but no joy.

Inn closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Inn connects with a nice short shot to Rayn's temple.

Rayn is defending against the submission attempts here by Inn.

Inn wants to work for an arm triangle but Rayn is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Inn seems to be looking for submissions.
Inn not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Rayn trying to control here.
Inn is controlling the pace.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Rayn tries to roll over but Inn keeps him under control.
Inn trying to control from half guard but Rayn is working away.
Rayn is trying to get back to full guard.
Inn is stalling here. Rayn is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Inn seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Rayn has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
Inn is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Rayn is staying tight to Inn's torso, preventing him from escaping.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Khun Rayn will probably get the nod.
That's time! Rayn's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Rayn slips under a jab from Inn.
Inn misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Inn takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Inn dives in and grabs Rayn's left leg, looking for a takedown. Rayn pushes down on Inn's head and hops out.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Inn dodges the punch combination from Rayn.
Rayn is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

Rayn ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Inn moves away.
Inn misses with a right hand
and Rayn counters with a left and a right that stings Inn.
Inn misses with a takedown
and Rayn counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Rayn throws a lazy right hand but Inn sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Inn avoids the head kick by Rayn.
Inn throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Rayn's waist but Rayn gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Inn off to one side.
Khun Rayn has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of All Inn.
Rayn darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Inn blocks a jab.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Rayn lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Rayn tries a head kick but it misses.
Inn misses with a body shot.
Rayn throws a series of punches but Inn moves out of range.
Khun Rayn is winning the standup battle so far.

Inn closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Rayn did well to prevent Inn getting side control.
Rayn is looking to control Inn's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Rayn avoid being mounted?

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Rayn is trying to get back to full guard.
Rayn is trying to control but can't.
Inn prevents Rayn from improving his position.

Inn is working for a submission of some sort.
Rayn trying to keep hold of his opponent's head but Inn manages to pass to mount!
Inn content just to control the position here.
Rayn wants to control but Inn is having none of it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Khun Rayn dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Inn throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
A head kick misses from Rayn.
Rayn throws an overhand right that lands on Inn's shoulder, as Inn tries to avoid the shot.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rayn connects with a leg kick. Inn looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Inn connects with a nice looking jab.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Rayn missing with a left hand there. Inn was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Nice shot lands for Rayn.
Inn shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Rayn as he jumps to the side.
Inn swings widly with a right hand
and Rayn counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Inn throws a sloppy body shot
and Rayn counters with a one-two to the body.
Inn is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Rayn rather than just go for the knockout.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Inn scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Rayn lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Inn rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Rayn counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Inn misses with a body punch
and Rayn counters with a nice low kick that buckles Inn's knee momentarily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Some wild striking there from Rayn.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Inn with a lazy takedown attempt
and Rayn counters with a left to the body.
Inn tries to score a power double leg takedown but Rayn sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Inn somewhat.
Khun Rayn has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of All Inn.
Inn tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Rayn swivels and escapes.
Inn takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Inn throws a right hand that misses
and Rayn counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Rayn moves away from the strike by Inn.
Good leg kick by Rayn there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
All Inn has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Rayn throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Inn on the side of the head.
Inn takes a head kick and keeps coming.

And that's the end of the fight!
Khun Rayn showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Rayn, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
