The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kuula tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Kroton tries a low kick but Kuula avoids it.
Kroton shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Kuula throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Kroton lands a body punch in the clinch.
Kroton makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.

Kroton throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Heikki Kuula seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Kroton counters with a thumping low kick.
Kroton throws a front kick aimed at Kuula's knee but Kuula avoids it well.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kroton is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Kuula is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Kroton has managed to free his arm - good work.
Kuula lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Kuula is looking to pass Kroton's guard but actually Kroton recovers to full guard.
Kuula stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kroton swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Kroton is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Kuula defends well.

Kroton working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kuula doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Kuula manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Kuula wants to control from the top but Kroton keeps moving.
Kuula might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Kroton kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Kuula swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Kuula throws a hook but Kroton avoids it easily.

Kroton shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Kroton showed some decent athleticism there.
Kuula is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Kroton's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Kroton's back!

Kroton tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
Kroton wants to hold on but Kuula pushes him away.

Kuula is looking to take a break and control but Kroton is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Kuula looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Kroton with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Kuula is trying to control the action in half guard but Kroton is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Kuula stalling away here and it's allowed Kroton to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

Kroton escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Kuula gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Kroton is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Kroton is thwarting Kuula's attempts to control the position.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Kroton lands a nice short elbow.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Kroton connects with a nice short shot to Kuula's temple.
Kroton works his way into side control.
Kuula tries to improve position but can't.

Kuula is looking to control Kroton's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Kuula avoid being mounted?

Kroton maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Kuula could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Kroton has cracked it and Kuula is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Kroton!
