Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Solomon Ares (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shane Carwin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ares kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Run This Town. Carwin is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Mama Said Knock You Out. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

12 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shane Carwin!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, John Mangel and Skip Squint.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ares keeps the fight on the outside.
Carwin tries to clinch up but Ares circles away and keeps his distance.
Carwin throws a leg kick
and Ares counters with a left and a right that stings Carwin.
Carwin throws a sloppy body shot
and Ares counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Ares stops Carwin from getting back to his feet.
Carwin wants to improve his position but Ares is controlling well.
Ares perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Ares throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Ares slows the pace down in half guard.
Ares not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Ares is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Ares is just content to waste time from the top position. Carwin takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Carwin bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Ares's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ares is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Ares is pulling down on Carwin's head to control his posture.
Carwin must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Ares is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Ares has control of Carwin's left arm, preventing Carwin from doing any damage.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Solomon Ares wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Carwin tries to bum rush Ares with a series of wild strikes but Ares uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Carwin connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

and Ares counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Ares not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Carwin makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
Ares closes the distance and clinches.

Carwin connects with a nasty looking knee right to Ares's face.
It looks like Solomon Ares has been cut.
A shot in the inside from Carwin.
With the fighters up against the cage, Carwin throws an elbow but misses.
Ares manages to break the clinch.
Ares misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Carwin lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Ares is breathing heavily.
Carwin scores with a jab to the body.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Carwin lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Carwin misses with a looping left.
Ares takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Carwin misses with a wild body shot.
Carwin fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Carwin misses with a two punch combination.
Ares swats away the attempt to clinch by Carwin.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
A chopping leg kick lands by Carwin.
A jab lands there for Carwin.
Carwin lands a nice leg kick that just misses Ares's sensitive parts.
Ares is starting to get sloppy and is letting his hands down. Carwin just took advantage and landed a stinging jab. Oh! And now a right hook, right on the button! Ares has gone limp, and this one is over!
