PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Scottie Terrier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Monty Python (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Terrier comes to the cage accompanied by Down with the Sickness. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Scottie Terrier!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Monty Python!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Hugh Johnson and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Terrier shoots and misses
letting Python counter with a right hand.
Terrier tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Python counters with a right hand to the body.

Terrier gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Python counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Scottie Terrier. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Terrier tries for a takedown but Python circles away easily
and Python counters with a nice uppercut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Python has managed to clinch.

Python breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Terrier fails with the takedown
and Python counters with a one-two to the body.

Python forces Terrier back against the cage and clinches.
Python gets underhooks to prevent Terrier's takedown attempt.
A body shot lands from Python.
Terrier is breathing heavily.

Python pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Python scores with a nice strike.

Python closes the distance and clinches.
Python is trying to push Terrier away but Terrier has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Python breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Terrier drives through with a takedown into guard.
Python is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Terrier wants to control from the top but Python keeps moving.

Python working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Terrier doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Terrier manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Terrier cracks Python with a solid left hand.

Python looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Terrier has gone for a leg lock! Python slips out almost immediately though and dives into Terrier's guard.

Terrier wants to sweep but no luck.
Terrier keeping moving, preventing Python from controlling successfully.
Python throwing strikes from guard but Terrier blocks nicely.
Python advances to half guard.
Terrier works his way to full guard. Good work.
Python working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.

Terrier is looking for a triangle but Python pushes his legs off easily.
Python trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Terrier is on top in guard.
Terrier chips away with some ground and pound.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Terrier trying to control but Python is working from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Terrier is looking to work some ground and pound but Python has wrist control.
Python really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Terrier. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Python keeping moving, preventing Terrier from controlling successfully.
Terrier is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Python looking for a guillotine here but Terrier defends easily.
Terrier wants to pass the guard but Python is keeping the position.

Terrier postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Python is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Terrier, into his guard.

Terrier has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Python can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Terrier is trying to control the position but Python postures up.
Python postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Terrier looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Terrier had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Python defends it easily.
Terrier wants to sweep but no luck.
Terrier is working hard here to advance position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Python throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Python trying to control the position from guard on top but Terrier is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Terrier trying to keep a closed guard but Python is proving a slippery customer.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Monty Python dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Terrier shoots in and gets a takedown into Python's guard.
Terrier might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Terrier works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Python wants to get back to full guard but Terrier has passed into side control.
Python is not content to let Terrier control the position.
Terrier gets to mount! Python was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.

Terrier landing punches.
Terrier looking to finish Python with some ground and pound. This is bad for Python!
BOOM! Terrier connects with a massive shot to the dome!


It looks like Monty Python has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Python really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

Python is squirming around, avoiding Terrier's attempts to control the action.
Terrier lands a nice shot to the head.
Python is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Terrier with shots to the head and body - Python looks very uncomfortable down there.


The cut above Monty Python's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Terrier with good strikes from the mount here!


Monty Python's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Monty Python's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Scottie Terrier!
