The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Griffin shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Grand Jacques is trying to defend but Griffin finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Grand Jacques avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Griffin.
Grand Jacques is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Griffin uses his free foot to push down on Grand Jacques's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Grand Jacques.
Griffin wants to take Grand Jacques's back but he can't do it this time.
Griffin is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Grand Jacques is surviving well by controlling Griffin's body position as best he can.
Griffin swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Grand Jacques is now in Griffin's guard. A big mistake from Griffin there, giving up the dominant position!

Griffin pushes a forearm under Grand Jacques's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Grand Jacques is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
