Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between George Ang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andrew Trent (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ang comes to the cage accompanied by Darude - Sandstorm. Trent has chosen Rick Astley - Never Gonna Give You Up as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Andrew Trent will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Andrew Trent!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, David Schapiro and Reed Andrews.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ang shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Trent is wriggling around trying to escape.
Ang with good strikes from the mount here!
Ang unloads with some shots from mount but Trent bucks and avoids them well.
Trent is trying desperately to improve position.

Ang looking for a guillotine from mount but Trent is having none of it.
Ang prevents Trent from getting the reversal.
Trent gets back to half guard.
Trent avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Ang.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Ang not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Trent is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Ang's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Ang's back!
Well, with Trent on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Ang is tapping out... Can he escape the position?

Trent is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Ang defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Trent is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Ang is defending well though. Trent let's go of the attempt for now.

Trent looking to break Ang's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Ang remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Trent will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

Ang is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
Trent is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Ang breaks Trent's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Ang trying to control the position from guard on top but Trent is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Trent looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Trent utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Ang with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Ang in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Trent is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Ang is aware though and is defending well.
Ang wants to pass the guard but Trent is keeping the position.
Ang missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Trent is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Ang stopping the sweep attempt from Trent.
Ang throws a strike but Trent rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Trent stands and throws Ang's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Trent is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Ang is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Ang tries to bench press Trent off him but Trent keeps the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Andrew Trent dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Trent misses with a body punch

and Ang counters with a shoot takedown. Trent fights it but they end up in guard.
Ang throws a big right hand that misses.
Trent looking to hit a scissor sweep but Ang is one step ahead there.

Ang is sitting in close to Trent's body. Trent has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Ang is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Ang is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Trent.
