Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Terry Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Al Core (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Damien Edna and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Core looks for a takedown but Silva sprawls well.
Core ducks under a wild hook from Silva.
Core shoots for a takedown but Silva saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Silva misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Silva scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Silva looks to land a right hand but Core moved out of range.
Core shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Silva as he avoids it easily.
Terry Silva has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Al Core.
Core looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Silva is fending him off so far but Core persists. Nope, Silva circles away and we're back to standing.
Core shoots for a double leg takedown but Silva sprawls well. He's pushed Core's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Al Core seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Core gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Silva.
Core avoids a punch combination nicely.

Core fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Silva thuds a left hand into Core's body.

Silva uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Silva tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Terry Silva is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Core throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Silva's waist but Silva gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Core off to one side.
Silva swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Nice takedown defense from Silva. No joy for Core on that attempt.

Core closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Silva is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Core is controlling him well.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Core is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Silva can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Core is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Silva is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Silva flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Core anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Silva and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Core slips an arm under Silva chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Core has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Core is squeezing on Silva like an anaconda would it's prey. Silva fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Al Core!
