Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Enson Thome (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andy Souwer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Enson Thome! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Andy Souwer! The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Reed Andrews and Steve Montenegro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A head kick misses from Souwer. Thome closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Souwer's guard. Thome stops Souwer from standing up. Thome with a nice head shot there. Thome throws a big right hand that misses. Thome prevents Souwer from getting back to his feet. Thome throwing strikes but missing. Thome connects with a couple of short punches. Thome forces his way into half guard. Thome sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Souwer defending well though. Souwer wants to get back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Thome slows the pace down in half guard. Thome seems to be looking for submissions.
Thome has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Souwer in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Thome trying to control but Souwer is having none of it. Thome moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Souwer has worked his arm free - good work by Souwer!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Thome lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Souwer down.
Thome has knee on belly momentarily but Souwer bucks him off and regains half guard. Thome thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Thome controlling the pace. Thome wants to free his trapped foot but Souwer is holding on for dear life with his legs. Thome is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Thome with a nice head shot there. Souwer utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Thome works over Souwer with some ground and pound from guard. Thome is pushing down on Souwer's leg trying to pass to half guard. Souwer is fighting to maintain full guard but Thome has managed to sneak the leg through. Thome lands with a punch from half guard. Thome moves into full mount! Souwer won't be happy about that! Thome lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Souwer hang on? Thome trying to control but Souwer is having none of it. Thome controlling from the full mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Thome looking to control but Souwer is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Thome working for a submission but Souwer is keeping him at bay. Thome controlling from mount. Thome lands a nice shot to the head. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Enson Thome dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Souwer throws a head kick that misses. A head kick from Souwer lands but Thome takes it in his stride. Thome misses with a lunging right hand
and Souwer counters with a series of strikes. Thome will be more careful next time no doubt. Thome swats away the attempt to clinch by Souwer. Thome misses with a body shot.
A right-left combo lands from Souwer. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Thome misses with a wild body shot. Thome misses with a shot to the body and Souwer counters with a thumping low kick. Thome fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Souwer to the ground. Thome is now in Souwer's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Thome stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Souwer swivels though and keeps the full guard. Thome is pushing down on Souwer's leg trying to pass to half guard. Souwer is fighting to maintain full guard but Thome has managed to sneak the leg through. Thome lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Thome not landing any meaningful shots this time. Souwer is trying to stand.
Thome uses his free foot to push down on Souwer's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Souwer. Souwer is squirming around, avoiding Thome's attempts to control the action. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Thome looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Thome is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Souwer can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Thome landing strikes from the mount. Souwer wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
Souwer is breathing heavily. Thome breaks from Souwer's wrist control and lands an elbow. Thome scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Thome working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Souwer turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Thome off and cradles Souwer's limp body as Thome celebrates with his corner.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Enson Thome!
