Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Tyler Durden!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ryan Baines!
The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Igor Prikhodko and Vladimir Khabensky.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Baines darts in trying to clinch

and Durden counters with a takedown into side control.
Durden tries to stand but Baines is controlling his head.
Baines is trying to improve his position.
Durden tries to move to mount but Baines blocks the move with his legs.
Baines wants to control but Durden postures up.
Durden trying to control the action but Baines is working from the bottom.
Baines tries to get back to half guard but can't.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Durden is looking to take a break and control but Baines is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
You can see the frustration on Baines's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Baines is trying to get back to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Durden goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Baines rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Durden's guard! Nice work there by Baines!

Baines stands up from Durden's guard - Baines perhaps looking for a knockout.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Baines.
Baines is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Durden will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Baines decides to stand back up.

Baines shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Baines seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Baines is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Durden doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Baines.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Baines is looking to advance position but Durden won't allow it.

Durden manages to escape and get back to his feet!

Baines manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Durden on his heels. He'll look to pass Durden's guard now, I'm sure.
Durden is breathing heavily.
Baines loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Baines passes Durden's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Baines slows the pace down in half guard.

Baines decides to return to a standing position.

Baines closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Baines works his foot free and advances to mount.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Baines avoids the attempt from Durden to control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Baines is stalling in the full guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Durden can't keep his opponent in guard - Baines advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Baines in particular looking to stall.
Baines is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

Baines decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

Baines fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Durden to the ground. Baines is now in Durden's guard.
Baines slips nicely into half guard.
Durden has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Baines is working away from the top position though.

Baines is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Baines in particular looking to stall.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Baines stands up from half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Baines closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Durden's guard.
Baines is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Durden is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Baines makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Baines controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ryan Baines showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!



Baines clinches up with Durden and pushes him back against the cage.
Durden looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Durden looking to slow down the pace here.
Baines fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Baines gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Durden trying to control the position.

Baines stands up and waves to Durden to follow him.
Baines lands with a kick to the temple. Durden shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Durden shoots and misses
and Baines counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Durden is lucky that one didn't land flush.

Baines scores with a takedown into Durden's guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Baines slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Baines controls the position from side control.
Baines works to advance to full mount. Durden defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Durden really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

Durden regains half guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Baines in particular looking to stall.
Durden is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Durden wants to get back to full guard but Baines has mounted him!
Durden tries to control the position but Baines now has his back.

Baines is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

Baines has managed to slip his arm under Durden's chin. This could be all over... yep, Durden is tapping out! Submission win for Baines.
