McCarthy lands a jab to De Giorgi's midsection.

De Giorgi shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as McCarthy sprawls well. McCarthy wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. De Giorgi gets slowly back to his feet.

McCarthy thuds his right hand into De Giorgi's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
McCarthy has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.

De Giorgi moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

McCarthy wants to get back to his feet but De Giorgi is holding on tight.

De Giorgi takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if McCarthy can do anything to dispel that myth.

McCarthy has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
McCarthy is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
De Giorgi has his arm under McCarthy's chin here. Game over son! De Giorgi squeezes tightly and McCarthy is forced to tap out!
