PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between El Loco (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sert Pier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pier has chosen All Nightmare Long as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. On his way into the cage it seems that El Loco has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily El Loco seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, El Loco!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Sert Pier!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Patrick Alders and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Loco connects with the punch.

so Pier counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Pier won't allow Loco to sweep him here.
Loco is looking to stand up but Pier isn't so interested in that idea.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Pier tries to move into range but Loco moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Loco lands with a straight right. Pier didn't see that one coming.
Loco fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Pier gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Loco connects with a good right hand that stumbles Pier. Pier circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Loco is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Pier looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

Loco lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Pier tries to stand but Loco is controlling his head.

Loco tries to bench press Pier off him but Pier keeps the position.
Loco on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Loco tries to get out of the position.

Loco is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Pier has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Loco trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Loco tries to roll over but Pier keeps him under control.

Loco lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Loco lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Loco misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Loco scores with a nice right hand.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Loco throws a nice looking combination but Pier bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
El Loco seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Loco smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

Loco gets a double leg takedown into Pier's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Sert Pier will probably get the nod.

Loco is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Pier.

Pier shoots in for a double leg but Loco sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Loco bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Pier's head.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Loco stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Loco wants it to stay on the feet.
Pier is breathing heavily.
Loco lands with an uppercut that bounces Pier off the cage and back into rage.

El Loco is winning the standup battle so far.
Pier has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Loco lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

Loco rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Pier moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Pier has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Pier there as he acknowledges the shot.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Loco is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Loco uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

Loco is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Pier takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Loco gets to his feet - Pier follows without any prompting.

Loco lands with a hook. Pier tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Pier's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Loco connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Pier scrambles back to his feet.

Loco is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Pier can do to turn this around?

Pier shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Loco pinned against the cage. Loco gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Loco scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Loco works the jab nicely.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

El Loco showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Loco has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
