Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Peggey Nikko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Donnie Brasco!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Summer Carpenter and John Mangel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nikko dives in and grabs Brasco's left leg, looking for a takedown. Brasco pushes down on Nikko's head and hops out.
Brasco fails with the takedown
and Nikko counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Nikko.
Nikko prevents the takedown attempt.
Brasco tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Nikko just stands there and leans against the cage.
Peggey Nikko has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Donnie Brasco.
Nikko tries to pull guard but Brasco won't allow it.
Nikko's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Nikko stuffs the takedown.
Brasco wants to clinch
and Nikko counters with a nice double leg into side control. Brasco won't be happy with that.
Nikko is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Brasco will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Nikko works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Nikko is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Brasco is trying to escape and Nikko transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Brasco is forced to tap! Nice work there by Nikko! Very nice indeed!
