Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Jack Tack! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Aewult Byrne! The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Chris Edwards and Daniel Bishop.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tack closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Byrne quickly recovers to half guard. Byrne wants to get back to full guard. Byrne misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Tack not landing any meaningful shots this time. Tack has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Tack wants to take a breather but Byrne is having none of it. Byrne blocking the ground and pound attempt from Tack. Tack stands up and beckons Byrne to join him on the feet. Byrne throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Tack counters with a takedown into side control. The referee asks Tack politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Tack prefers to stall for the moment though. Byrne tries to buck Tack off but Tack is having none of it. Tack tries for a kimura but Byrne is defending well. Byrne tries to get back to half guard but can't. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Tack is on top in guard.
Byrne has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Tack can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Tack looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Tack stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Byrne swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Byrne is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Tack is aware though and is defending well. Tack sitting in guard, not really doing much. Byrne is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Tack pushing down on Byrne's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Byrne is not content to let Tack control the position. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Byrne looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Tack controlling the pace.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Tack's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
We're going to have a standup here because Jack Tack wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Byrne swings widly with a right hand
and Tack counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Byrne! Tack in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Byrne tries to lock up and control but Tack gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Byrne looks gassed! Tack sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Jack Tack overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Tack is looking for a kimura here.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Tack tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Tack is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Tack!
