Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kevin Matthews (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryan Rummer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Matthews comes to the cage accompanied by Disturbed-Conflict. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kevin Matthews!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ryan Rummer!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Dean Styles and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Matthews shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Rummer manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Matthews with a flurry of punches that miss.
Rummer utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Matthews trying to control the position from guard on top but Rummer is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Rummer thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Matthews sitting in guard, not really doing much.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Kevin Matthews.
Matthews throws a lazy right hand but Rummer sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Rummer avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
A telegraphed right hand from Rummer misses the target.
Matthews connects with the punch.


It looks like Ryan Rummer has been cut.

Matthews ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Matthews throws a shot from downtown. Rummer moves away and avoids it.
Matthews throws a combination that misses
and Matthews takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Rummer looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Rummer looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Rummer thows a huge punch but Matthews dodges it nicely.
Matthews is not content to let Rummer control the position.

Matthews tries to kick Rummer off but Rummer keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Rummer has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Rummer is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Matthews scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Rummer manages to mount him!

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Matthews is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.

That was a close round but I would say that Kevin Matthews will probably get the nod.

Rummer rushes Matthews and presses him up against the cage.

Matthews gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Rummer regains guard.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Matthews stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rummer swivels though and keeps the full guard.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Matthews chips away with some ground and pound.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Matthews takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Matthews takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Matthews tries for a takedown but Rummer circles away easily
and Rummer cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Matthews moves forwards but Rummer connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Matthews throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Rummer sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Matthews misses the jab.

and Rummer counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Matthews!
Rummer throwing strikes here but Matthews is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.

Rummer is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!
Rummer misses with a body shot.

Rummer shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Rummer tries to free his leg and advance position but Matthews is retaining full guard.
Rummer throws and elbow that misses. Matthews uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Rummer's guard. Nice move by Matthews!

Matthews is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Rummer has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Rummer goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Matthews has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Rummer but great work by Matthews.
The strikes coming from Matthews are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Matthews throws a strike aimed at the side of Rummer's head but Rummer avoids it well.
Rummer is looking to reverse the position.
Matthews creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Matthews throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

Ryan Rummer comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Rummer has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
