Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Alvin Bensin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Richard Klein!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Steve Erwin and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bensin scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Bensin is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Klein has managed to free his arm - good work.
Bensin seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Klein really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bensin. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Bensin is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Klein doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Bensin.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Bensin has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Bensin landing strikes from the mount and Klein is in trouble!
Bensin has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Klein's face.
Bensin takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Bensin lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Klein is trying to get back to his feet but can't.
Klein looks gassed!

Bensin stands up from mount. Strange move.
Bensin shoots in for a takedown but Klein shows good takedown defense.

Bensin closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Bensin lands in his opponent's guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Bensin forces his way into half guard.
Bensin stops Klein from getting back to his feet.

Bensin is trying for a kimura here. Klein looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Bensin wins by kimura!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:03 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Alvin Bensin!
