Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Nate Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Demon Maia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Maia's choice of entrance music: Numb/Encore. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Nate Jones! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Demon Maia! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Kenichi Hosakawa and Yukihiro Yamamoto.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Jones. Jones connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Maia momentarily.
Jones with a body punch. A glancing blow. Jones scores with a head kick. Maia tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time. Maia takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Jones goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
It looks like Demon Maia has been cut. Jones lands with a right hand. Jones delivers a nice body kick. Jones moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. A solid body kick from Jones. Maia moves away from the strike by Jones. Jones throws an off balance right hand
and Maia counters with a left and a right that stings Jones. Maia avoids the head kick by Jones.
Jones lands a nice leg kick that just misses Maia's sensitive parts.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jones lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Good leg kick by Jones there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Maia walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Jones pulls out of a head kick attempt.

A combination from Jones does no damage. A punch combination from Maia misses. Jones tries a head kick but it misses.
Jones stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Jones wants it to stay on the feet. Nate Jones is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Jones misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Maia takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Jones slips a jab and a cross from Maia.

Jones throws a lazy uppercut
and Maia counters with a two punch combo. Jones pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Maia takes a kick to the side of the head. Jones misses with a hook. Jones feints and then cracks Maia's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Maia down. A right-left combo lands from Jones. Maia blocks a head kick by Jones.
A head kick misses from Jones. Maia shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Jones as he jumps to the side. Maia avoids the head kick by Jones.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones throws a hook but Maia blocks it. Jones scores with a jab to the jaw. Maia tries to close the distance and clinch but Jones swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Jones throws a big shot that misses. Jones misses with a body kick. Jones fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Jones throws a head kick but Maia moves out of range.
Jones throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Maia avoids a kick to the body.
A nice leg kick lands there from Jones. Jones connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

Jones throws a right hand that Maia ducks under and follows up with a left that Maia also avoids with ease. Jones falls off balance throwing a combination
and Maia counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Jones manages to break the clinch.
Maia looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Jones throws a shot from downtown. Maia moves away and avoids it. Jones throws a head kick but Maia moves out of range.
A head kick by Maia misses and Jones counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Jones misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Jones throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Nate Jones dominated that round. The cut man is working on Demon Maia's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Maia bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Jones's head backwards. Maia throws a head kick that misses. Jones takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Maia's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down. Jones pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Maia has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Maia there as he acknowledges the shot. Jones fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Maia. Maia is looking to clinch. Jones connects with a high kick. Jones throws a sloppy head kick and Maia moves out of range easily. Nate Jones is winning the standup battle so far. Jones pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Maia ducks under a wild hook from Jones. Maia moves out of range as Jones strikes. Maia slips under a jab from Jones.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jones lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Jones throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Jones scores with a head kick. Maia tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time. That kick from Jones tenderised Maia's leg. Maia is trying to keep his angry face on. Jones darts in and out, connecting with a jab. A punch lands to the side of Maia 's head but he takes it in his stride. Maia blocks a head kick by Jones.
Nate Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Maia takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

That's two minutes gone in the round. Maia gets in close and instigates a clinch. Jones breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

and Maia counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Jones has his foot on Maia's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Maia works his way back into a safe position though. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Maia passes into half guard. Jones is in trouble now - Maia has advanced to mount! Jones really wants to buck Maia off and get back to his feet. Maia tries to take his opponent's back but Jones turns with him and manages to move into guard on the top. Nice work. Jones preventing the sweep.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Maia looking for a guillotine here but Jones defends easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Maia keeping moving, preventing Jones from controlling successfully. Jones postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Maia tries to land a sweep but no joy. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Nate Jones dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Demon Maia's cut. That's time! Jones's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

and Jones counters with a head kick. That will keep Maia thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! Jones looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Jones throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Maia. Jones throws a poor cross that misses
and Maia counters with a single leg into guard. Jones didn't expect that. Maiais looking to pass into half guard but Jones pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Jones is in guard. Maia tries to land a sweep but no joy. Maia is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jones got a little sloppy there for a moment and Maia has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Jones has managed to get both his arms back between Maia's legs - danger averted. Maia is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Jones defends well. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jones scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Maia is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Maia controls Jones momentarily but Jones frees himself. Jones slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Jones is looking to work some ground and pound but Maia has wrist control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Maia working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Jones doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Jones manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Maia wants to sweep but no luck. Jones wants to control from the top but Maia keeps moving. Maia trying to control the position.
Jones won't allow Maia to sweep him here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Jones trying to control but Maia is working from the bottom.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Nate Jones just wasn't active enough. A cross from Jones lands. Maia takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Demon Maia has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Jones throws a head kick that misses. Jones misses with a hook. Maia moves out of range as Jones strikes. Jones scores with a head kick.
And that's the end of the fight! Nate Jones showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Jones, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
