Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Astrud Rivera! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jack Woods! The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rivera is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Woods's half guard. Rivera is thwarting Woods's attempts to control the position. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Rivera lands a nice short elbow. Woods wants to control but Rivera passes into side.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Woods is not content to let Rivera control the position. Woods manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Woods is keen to just control but Rivera is a slippery customer. Rivera controlling the position well. Rivera has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Rivera scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Astrud Rivera has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Woods tries to clinch but Rivera moves away and Rivera counters with a head kick. Woods gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Rivera to score an easy takedown into full guard. Rivera would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Woods has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Rivera wants to stand but Woods is controlling the position. Rivera managing to control the position. Rivera is trying to control the position but Woods postures up. Woods wants to control from the top but Rivera keeps moving. Woods looking to pass the guard.

That was a close second round but I would say that Astrud Rivera will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Rivera had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Woods defends it easily. Woods drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Woods seems to have locked his on tight now - Rivera screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Woods, as he picks up the win!
