Leonidas King is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice cross by King. Diaz tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but King swivels and escapes. Diaz closes the distance but King moves to the side and King counters with a lovely straight right hand! Diaz shoots and misses and King connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. King stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and King wants it to stay on the feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tito Diaz. That's going to take a lot out of him. Diaz swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Diaz shoots and misses and King counters with a stiff right hand. Diaz misses with a takedown attempt and King counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters. Diaz shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and King cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Diaz misses with a takedown attempt and King counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Diaz thinking. Diaz is breathing heavily. Diaz misses with a takedown and King counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. King connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Diaz gets caught by a brutal right hook which buckles his knees! Diaz tries to backpedal with his spaghettilegs but King is headhunting and goes for the kill. A jab and a right hook connect and Diaz buckles badly as his eyes roll back. The referee steps in and saves Diaz!! Diaz is complaining but he was clearly out on his feet. King throws his mouthpiece into the crowd. Mmmm spit-tastic.
