Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Maximus Meridius (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Tyson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tyson is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Thriller Indiano. Jason Tyson has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
14 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Maximus Meridius! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jason Tyson! The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Matheus Silva and Felipe Paraventi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Meridius misses with a leg kick. Meridius is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Tyson. Meridius misses with a right hand enabling Tyson to counter with a crisp jab. Meridius throws a leg kick that is checked and Tyson counters with a good low kick that Meridius was not able to check. Maximus Meridius seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Meridius misses with a straight right. Meridius misses with the body kick and Tyson makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Meridius throws a sloppy head kick and Tyson cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. An inside leg kick lands from Meridius. Meridius throws a lazy head kick and Tyson cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
That's one minute gone in the round. Meridius throws a head kick that misses enabling Tyson to counter with a crisp jab. Meridius throws a lazy head kick and Tyson counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Meridius throws a solid leg kick but Tyson takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Meridius. Meridius checks the leg kick nicely there.
Meridius misses with a kick to the body so Tyson counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Meridius is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Meridius is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Tyson is controlling him. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Meridius is on top in guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tyson manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Meridius manages to get himself to full guard.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Jason Tyson wasn't active enough on the ground. Meridius throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. Meridius throws an ugly left hook that misses
enabling Tyson to counter with a crisp jab. Meridius throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Meridius throws a head kick that misses and Tyson cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Meridius slips a straight right by Tyson. Meridius throws a poor cross that misses
and Tyson counters with a straight right hand.

Meridius connects with a solid leg kick. Tyson misses with an uppercut. Meridius swings widly with a right hand
and Tyson counters with a big head kick but Meridius shrugs it off. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Meridius throws a leg kick and Tyson counters with a right hand to the body. Meridius buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jason Tyson dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Meridius throws a leg kick that is checked and Tyson counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Meridius thinking. Meridius stuffs the takedown attempt from Tyson. Tyson gets slowly back to his feet. Meridius thows a leg kick but Tyson checks it and Tyson counters with a takedown into side control. Meridius tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Tyson wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Meridius is working hard here to advance position. Tyson tries to advance to mount but Meridius denies him. Meridius is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Tyson is controlling him well. Tyson controlling from side mount. Meridius is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Tyson off and has taken his back!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Meridius has his opponent's back and is working for the choke. Meridius trying desperately to keep hold of the dominant position.
Tyson tries to escape but Meridius has the hooks in and won't let him break free. Tyson is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Meridius off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted. Meridius looking for the RNC. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Meridius avoiding Tyson 's attempts to control his hands.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Meridius tightening his grip on Tyson, looking for the choke. The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Meridius's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Tyson fending off the submission attempt from Meridius. Meridius looking to break Tyson's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Tyson remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Meridius will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke! Tyson defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Meridius's arms. Meridius is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
Tyson is really stuck here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Meridius gets his hands free as Tyson looks to control. Tyson defends a prolonged rear naked choke attempt and turns nicely into his opponent's guard. Tyson's corner is telling him to maintain position. Tyson trying to control the position from guard on top but Meridius is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Meridius wants to stand up but Tyson is controlling him. Meridius keeping full guard, as Tyson tries to pass. Meridius looking for a guillotine here but Tyson defends easily.

That was a close second round but I would say that Maximus Meridius will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

and Tyson takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Maximus Meridius is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Meridius leaves Tyson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Tyson moves out of range of the leg kick from Meridius. Tyson blocks a head kick by Meridius.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Meridius blocks a jab. Meridius throws a lazy head kick and Tyson counters with a leg kick. Meridius throws a lazy head kick and Tyson connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

and Meridius counters with an inside leg kick. Meridius throws a leg kick that is checked letting Tyson counter with a right hand. Tyson blocks a jab. Meridius lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Meridius throws a head kick that misses and Tyson cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Meridius misses with a leg kick and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tyson throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Meridius sees it coming and avoids it easily. Meridius throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Meridius is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Tyson. A low kick from Meridius misses and Tyson counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Meridius throws a head kick that misses letting Tyson counter with a right hand. Maximus Meridius is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. A head kick from Meridius lands but Tyson takes it in his stride. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. A low kick from Meridius is predictable there and Tyson counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Meridius checks a leg kick. Meridius throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Meridius throws a sloppy head kick and Tyson counters with a series of strikes. Meridius will be more careful next time no doubt. A looping hook to the body misses from Tyson. Meridius does a little dance to reset his feet. Meridius has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ. Tyson throws a leg kick and Meridius counters with a nice uppercut. Tyson throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Meridius will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Good work by Tyson as he checks the leg kick.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Jason Tyson. Well Tyson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today.
