The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Spishak avoids a punch combination nicely.
Leben throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Spishak. Leben gets caught flat footed, as Spishak shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Spishak won't allow Leben to get back to his feet. Spishak forces his way into half guard. Spishak is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Leben defends it well. Spishak is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Leben has managed to free his arm - good work. Spishak wants to work for an arm triangle but Leben is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Spishak is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Leben off and has taken his back! Spishak is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Leben is defending well though. Spishak let's go of the attempt for now. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Leben controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Spishak fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Leben scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
