Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mark Awesome!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Eliza Hachem and Hugh Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Walker lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Walker throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Walker throws a series of punches but Awesome moves out of range.
Sloppy strikes from Awesome. Those never looked like landing.
Walker swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Awesome counters with a takedown into side control.

Awesome decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Awesome has a takedown stuffed.
Walker cracks Awesome with a good jab.
Walker cracks Awesome with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Awesome takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Walker swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Walker throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Awesome counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Walker thinking.

Awesome stands up and waves to Walker to follow him.

J J Walker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Awesome scores a takedown into full mount!

Awesome moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Walker has worked his arm free - good work by Walker!
Awesome wants to control for a moment but Walker uses the opportunity to move back to half guard.

Still in half guard, Awesome seems content to control.
Walker keeping hold of Awesome's head, controlling as best he can.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Awesome is keen to just control but Walker is a slippery customer.

Awesome feints and as Walker raises his hands in defense, Awesome changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Awesome tries to stand but Walker is controlling from the bottom.
Awesome passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Awesome tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Awesome wants to lay and pray for a moment but Walker keeps working.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Walker prevents Awesome from moving into mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A combination from Awesome does no damage.
J J Walker is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Awesome walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Walker connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Awesome momentarily.
Awesome moves forwards but Walker connects with a nice, crisp jab.

Walker throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Awesome misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Awesome fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Walker to the ground. Awesome is now in Walker's guard.

Awesome must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Awesome stands up and waves to Walker to follow him.

Awesome throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Awesome misses with a double jab.
Awesome takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Awesome swinging wildly here.
Walker dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Awesome is breathing heavily.
Awesome shoots in for a double leg but Walker sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Awesome throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Walker makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Walker throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Walker throws a right and a left that both miss.
A decent looking cross lands there for Walker.
Walker lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Walker smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

Awesome is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Awesome closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Walker quickly recovers to half guard.
Awesome is still in real trouble! Can Walker finish him?

Walker trying to keep a closed guard but Awesome is proving a slippery customer.

Awesome wants to stand but Walker has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Awesome drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Walker manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Awesome has Walker in his guard.

Mark Awesome has got the better of the ground game so far.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Walker controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Awesome is trying to keep Walker in close.

Walker sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Awesome's guard.

Walker seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Awesome does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Awesome takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Awesome is not content to let Walker control the position.
Walker stops Awesome from getting back to his feet.
Walker wants to take a breather but Awesome is having none of it.

J J Walker has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Awesome dives in and grabs Walker's left leg, looking for a takedown. Walker pushes down on Awesome's head and hops out.

so Awesome counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Walker not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Awesome stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Walker swivels though and keeps the full guard.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Walker isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Awesome stacks Walker on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Awesome!

Awesome swings around for an armbar but Walker sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Awesome's guard.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Awesome holds on and takes a little breather.
