0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Monskie Rodriguez! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Wesley Smith and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Guymon drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Guymon avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Guymon controlling from the top position. Guymon preventing the sweep. Rodriguez trying to control the position.
Guymon showing good wrestling skills to control the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Tito Guymon has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Rodriguez with a lazy takedown attempt and Guymon moves into the clinch. Guymon prevents the takedown attempt.

Guymon has clasped his hands together around Rodriguez's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. Rodriguez is letting Guymon control him for a moment. Guymon is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Rodriguez knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rodriguez seems a little lost for a moment, as Guymon dominates the positioning. Rodriguez tries to contro but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad. Guymon controlling the pace for now.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Guymon punishing his opponent with strikes. Guymon controlling from the full mount. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Guymon cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

That's four minutes gone in the round. Guymon controlling the position easily from mount. Guymon seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Rodriguez for as long as he can get away with. Guymon has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
We're going to have a standup here because Tito Guymon wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Rodriguez tries to close the distance and clinch up but Guymon swats him away and circles back towards the center. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

and Rodriguez counters with a head kick. That will keep Guymon thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! Rodriguez misses with a takedown attempt and Guymon counters with a single leg into guard. Rodriguez didn't expect that. Guymon content to stall in guard here. Rodriguez wants to sweep here but Guymon controlling him for the moment. Guymon controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Tito Guymon just wasn't active enough. Rodriguez shoots and misses and Guymon counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Guymon controlling the pace. Rodriguez wants to get back to his feet. Rodriguez is breathing heavily. Rodriguez gets full guard. Guymon sitting in guard, not really doing much. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Rodriguez scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Monskie Rodriguez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Guymon closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Rodriguez's guard. Guymon looking to pass the guard. Rodriguez looking to hit a scissor sweep but Guymon is one step ahead there. Guymon stays in close to Rodriguez's body and controls the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Guymon stopping the sweep attempt from Rodriguez. Guymon is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

He'll look to pass Rodriguez's guard now, I'm sure. Guymon stays in close to Rodriguez's body and controls the position.

Tito Guymon overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Rodriguez is looking to reverse the position. Guymon controls the position from side control. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Guymon connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Rodriguez some visible discomfort.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Tito Guymon dominated that second round. That's time! Back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!
Guymon closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Rodriguez struggling a bit here. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Guymon has knee on belly and moves into mount. Guymon controlling from the full mount. Rodriguez really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Rodriguez takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Guymon avoids the attempt from Rodriguez to control. Guymon controlling the position easily from mount.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Guymon in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Guymon looking to control and managing it successfully. Guymon lands with some strikes. Guymon controlling from mount. Rodriguez is in a horrible position here. Guymon smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Guymon with the ground and pound from mount. Guymon tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Rodriguez keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Guymon takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Tito Guymon. Rodriguez looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. A momentary lapse in concentration from Rodriguez enables Guymon to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Rodriguez manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Guymon controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
And that's the end of the fight! Tito Guymon showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Guymon, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
