Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Lyman Horseflesh! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, John Thomas Boss! The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Anthony Taglia and Russell Pearce.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Horseflesh drives through with a takedown into Boss's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Horseflesh pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Boss is keeping the position for now. Horseflesh loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Horseflesh stays in close to Boss's body and controls the position. Horseflesh passes Boss's left leg - he's now in half guard. Boss is refusing to be controlled, as Horseflesh sits in half guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Lyman Horseflesh wasn't doing enough on the ground. Boss takes the fight into the clinch. Boss landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
Boss connects with a nasty looking knee right to Horseflesh's face.
Horseflesh has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Boss is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Boss scores with a knee to the head.

It looks like Lyman Horseflesh has been cut. Horseflesh has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Boss is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Boss blocks the elbow strike.
Boss lands an elbow inside that Horseflesh shrugs off. A nice glancing elbow lands by Boss. Horseflesh stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Boss obliges. Horseflesh is breathing heavily. This has been an exciting period of action! Horseflesh has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Boss avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lyman Horseflesh. That's going to take a lot out of him. Boss landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.

Boss lands an elbow just above Horseflesh 's eye. Horseflesh takes a knee to the side of the body. Boss lands an elbow that stopped Horseflesh in his tracks for a moment. Horseflesh tries to score a body lock takedown but Boss shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Boss connects with a nasty looking knee right to Horseflesh's face.

Boss putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Horseflesh in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body. Horseflesh turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! Boss is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Horseflesh asserts his dominance and retains side control. Horseflesh tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. You can see the frustration on Boss's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Horseflesh is trying to get an arm triangle but Boss is defending well. Horseflesh taking a breather here. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Horseflesh tries to advance to mount but can't. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but John Thomas Boss will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Lyman Horseflesh's cut. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Horseflesh tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Boss just stands there and leans against the cage. Horseflesh is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Boss gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lyman Horseflesh. That's going to take a lot out of him. Horseflesh avoiding damage as Boss throws knees to the body.

John Thomas Boss seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far. Boss working Horseflesh over with knees to the body. Boss landing knees to the head.

Boss misses with an elbow over the top. Boss unloads a knee to the mid-section. Horseflesh wants the takedown. Boss is fighting it off but Horseflesh persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Boss's guard against the cage. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Horseflesh wants to pass the guard but Boss is keeping the position. Horseflesh trying to control the position from guard on top but Boss is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Boss really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Horseflesh. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Horseflesh with a flurry of punches that miss. Horseflesh stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Boss swivels though and keeps the full guard. Horseflesh working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Boss's head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Boss keeping full guard, as Horseflesh tries to pass. Horseflesh landing with the ground and pound. Horseflesh missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Horseflesh forces his way into half guard. Horseflesh trying to pass the guard but Boss defending well. Horseflesh is trying to control the action in half guard but Boss is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Horseflesh wants to free his trapped foot but Boss is holding on for dear life with his legs. Horseflesh wants to take a breather but Boss is having none of it. Horseflesh moves nicely into side control. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Horseflesh throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Boss works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Lyman Horseflesh will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Lyman Horseflesh's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Horseflesh stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Boss swivels though and keeps the full guard. Boss takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Boss looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Horseflesh passes into side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Horseflesh content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. Horseflesh is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Boss knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Horseflesh slows the pace down.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Boss is not content to let Horseflesh control the position. Horseflesh working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Horseflesh is trying to get an arm triangle but Boss is defending well. Horseflesh trying to control the position but Boss is working away. Horseflesh tries to move to mount but Boss blocks the move with his legs.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Boss takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Horseflesh passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Boss! Horseflesh throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Boss has his hands clasped together but Horseflesh breaks the hold and Boss is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Horseflesh!
