Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Camillo Samcjez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Suan Paredes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Camillo Samcjez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Suan Paredes! The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Jonathan Paton and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Samcjez fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Paredes manages to avoid it. Samcjez tries to clinch and Paredes counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Paredes. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Paredes tries to free his leg and advance position but Samcjez is retaining full guard. Paredes throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Samcjez works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Paredes slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. It looks like Paredes might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. Paredes loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Paredes pushing down on Samcjez's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Paredes lands with a punch from half guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Paredes with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Samcjez pushes Paredes off looking to stand but Paredes dives back in and keeps control.
Paredes is nestled in close to Samcjez, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Paredes not doing much here.
That's one minute gone in the round. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Let's hope that Paredes has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Suan Paredes wasn't active enough on the ground. Samcjez moves forwards but Paredes connects with a nice, crisp jab.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Samcjez throws a sloppy head kick and Paredes moves out of range easily. Paredes scores with a jab to the body. Samcjez is breathing heavily. Paredes closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Samcjez did well to prevent Paredes getting side control. Nice strikes from Paredes there. This has been an exciting period of action! Samcjez is trying to stand back up but Paredes is controlling him
Paredes takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Paredes looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Samcjez with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Paredes controlling the pace. Paredes wants to pass to mount but Samcjez is defending the position. Paredes drops an elbow to the side of Samcjez's head. Paredes lands strikes from half guard.
Samcjez is rocked!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Paredes lands strikes from half guard. Oh Samcjez is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Paredes controlling the pace. Paredes uses his free foot to push down on Samcjez's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Samcjez. Paredes loads up with a big shot that hurts Samcjez! He's pulled Paredes in close but Paredes has postured up and lands more strikes. Can Samcjez survive? More strikes from Paredes and Samcjez is out! The ref jumps in to save him! Brutal ground and pound!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:31 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Suan Paredes!
