Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Matthew Baine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Davis Obrien (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Baine comes to the cage accompanied by The Show Goes On. Obrien is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Stone Cold Crazy. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Matthew Baine! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Davis Obrien! The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Anthony Taglia and Lou da Vinci.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Obrien misses with a straight left. Obrien forces Baine back against the cage and clinches. Obrien throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Obrien breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Obrien throws a leg kick but Baine sees it coming and checks it nicely. Obrien throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Obrien tries to clinch but Baine is having none of it. Obrien displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Baine. Obrien throws a nice looking combination but Baine bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Obrien connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Baine has his takedown stuffed and Obrien counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Obrien stuns Baine with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
That's one minute gone in the round. Obrien throws a hook to the side of Baine's head but Baine sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Baine bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Obrien wants to get back to his feet but Baine drags him back down. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Obrien regains half guard there - taking advantage of Baine's attempt to lay and pray for a moment. Baine is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Baine throwing shots but Obrien is blocking nicely. Obrien is looking to escape. Baine throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Obrien tries to kick Baine off but Baine keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Baine wants to work for an arm triangle but Obrien is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Baine is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Obrien defends it well. Obrien blocking the ground and pound attempt from Baine. Baine thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Baine decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up. Baine avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The fight moves into the clinch position. Baine avoids a wild elbow strike from Obrien. Obrien is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Baine tries to pull guard but Obrien won't allow it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Matthew Baine. That's going to take a lot out of him. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Obrien stalling against the cage.
Baine jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Obrien walks away with a smile on his face. Baine gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Davis Obrien will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Obrien looks to throw the jab but Baine is out of range. Obrien is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Baine. Baine bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Obrien throws a right and a left that Baine avoids nicely. Matthew Baine is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Obrien fails with an attempt to clinch.
Baine shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Obrien's guard. Baine wants to pass the guard but Obrien is keeping the position. Obrien keeping moving, preventing Baine from controlling successfully. Obrien working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Baine. Baine will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
That's one minute gone in the round. Baine postures up in Obrien's guard and throws a big left but Obrien blocks it. Obrien is trying to keep Baine in close.
Obrien keeping moving, preventing Baine from controlling successfully. Obrien is looking to stand up but Baine isn't so interested in that idea. Baine wants to control from the top but Obrien keeps moving. Baine has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Obrien wants to sweep but no luck.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Obrien lands with a shot to the body. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Baine is defended easily by Obrien. Obrien lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Obrien is looking to clinch but Baine is avoiding it.
Baine blocks a jab. Obrien fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Baine on the side of the head. Baine takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Baine fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Davis Obrien seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Obrien throws a right and a left that both miss.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Obrien has taken the fight to the clinch.
Obrien lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Baine avoids the elbow strike from Obrien, against the cage.
Obrien content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Obrien's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Obrien scores with a nice strike. Davis Obrien seems to be getting the better of the standup. Baine moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Obrien lands with an overhand left. Baine has his takedown stuffed and Obrien makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Matthew Baine. That's going to take a lot out of him. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Obrien throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Baine on the side of the head. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Nice jab there from Obrien.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Obrien connects with a jab. Baine walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Obrien scores with a nice right hand.
Obrien with a nice cross. Baine walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Obrien jabs Baine to the body, keeping him at a distance. Obrien tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Baine paws at him with a jab and circles away. Obrien stuns Baine with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Obrien lands a right hook to the body.
Obrien darts in and clinches Baine up against the cage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Davis Obrien showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Baine drops his hands momentarily and Obrien takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Some bone on bone action there as Baine checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Obrien throws a head kick that misses. Obrien lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
A solid leg kick lands there for Obrien.
The fight moves into the clinch position. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Obrien breaks from the clinch.
Obrien scores with a punch to the head. Baine shoots in looking for a takedown but Obrien manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Baine's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Obrien lunges at Baine with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Baine's hand.
Baine is rocked! Obrien throws a big shot that misses. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Obrien rushes Baine and presses him up against the cage. Baine dodges an elbow strike from Obrien.
Baine fails to pull guard.
Obrien working some nice short punches in the clinch. Obrien throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Baine blocks it with crossed arms. Obrien pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage. Baine takes a knee to the side of the body. Obrien stalling in the clinch.
Obrien pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. A combination from Obrien does no damage. Obrien throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Davis Obrien is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Baine tries to keep at a distance but Obrien has taken the fight into the clinch. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. With the two fighters working up against the cage, Obrien just misses with a elbow thrown towards Baine's brow. Baine's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Obrien gets through Baine's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Obrien pushes off an throws an elbow but Baine leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage. Obrien stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.

Obrien creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Baine's defenses. Baine avoids a wild elbow strike from Obrien. Baine is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Obrien gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Obrien breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Baine has a closed guard, preventing Obrien from standing up. Baine is looking for a triangle but Obrien pushes his legs off easily.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Obrien tries to stand but Baine is controlling from the bottom.
And that's the end of the fight! Davis Obrien comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Obrien winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
