Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Hit Hard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ari Velazquez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Velazquez has chosen DMX- We go hard as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Chris Downing and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Velazquez throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Hard counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Hard preventing the sweep.
Hard slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
We're going to have a standup here because Hit Hard wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

and Hard counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Hard is stalling here. Velazquez is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Hard seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Velazquez has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Velazquez will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Velazquez moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Velazquez takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

and Hard counters with a three punch combo that has Velazquez backing up. Velazquez nods at Hard to acknowledge the strikes.
Velazquez throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

and Hard counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Velazquez jabs Hard to the body, keeping him at a distance.

Hard ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Velazquez just misses with a punch to the body.
Hard fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Velazquez to the ground. Hard is now in Velazquez's guard.
Hard has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Velazquez pulls Hard in close to his closed guard and prevents Hard from doing any damage or advancing position.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Hard closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Hit Hard is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Hit Hard overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Hard, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
