The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brogan throws an off balance right hand
and Kia counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Brogan!
Kia goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Brogan turns into him and now he's in Kia's guard.
Brogan trying to control but Kia is working from the bottom.
Brogan postures up and lands a big shot to Kia's brow.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kia looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Brogan has picked Kia up and slammed him! Kia can't keep hold of the triangle and Brogan manages to pass to side control!

Kia is trying to get back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Kia looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out!
