The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva misses with a takedown
and Shamrock counters with a single leg into guard. Silva didn't expect that.
Silva wants to stand up but Shamrock is controlling him.
Shamrock drops back, looking for a kneebar! Silva looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Silva looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Silva!
Shamrock tries to improve position but can't.
Silva trying to control the action but Shamrock is working from the bottom.
Shamrock tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Silva wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Silva is looking to take a break and control but Shamrock is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Silva has hold of Shamrock's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Shamrock seems comfortable defending it but Silva has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Shamrock is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Shamrock is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Silva couldn't care less - he's delighted!
