The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Thompson shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Thompson is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Engl has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Thompson lands a big elbow.
Engl is bucking up trying to escape but Thompson cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Thompson has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Thompson has hold of Engl's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Engl manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Engl is looking to get to half guard.

Thompson looking to isolate an arm here. Engl doesn't see it coming and as Thompson extends the arm, he's forced to tap out! Nice submission by Thompson!
