The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bruso walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

It looks like Thomas Bruso has been cut.
Bruso shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Factor defends it nicely.
Factor lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Factor takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Factor throws a sloppy head kick
and Bruso counters with a nice uppercut.
Bruso throws a lazy uppercut
and Factor counters with a straight right hand.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Bruso defending well as Factor loads up on a big left hand.

and Factor counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Factor throws a head kick that misses
and Bruso counters with a good, hard body kick but Factor shrugs it off.
Bruso ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Bruso stalks Factor and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Factor's face. Factor staggers backwards, shaken.

It looks like Max Factor has been cut.

Bruso slips under a jab.
Bruso throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Factor's waist but Factor gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Bruso off to one side.

and Factor counters with a straight right hand.
Factor slips a jab from Bruso.
Factor ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Bruso moves away.
Thomas Bruso seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bruso tries to clinch up
letting Factor counter with a right hand.

Factor misses with a left hand
and Bruso counters with a straight right hand.
Bruso ducks under a wild hook from Factor.

Bruso loads up on a big right hand but Factor slips the punch.
Bruso lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Factor misses the jab.
Bruso misses with an attempted mid kick.
Bruso doesn't manage to clinch there - Factor circles away.
Bruso uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Factor.
A shot to the body from Bruso misses
and Factor makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

letting Factor counter with a right hand.
Factor throws a hook but Bruso blocks it.
Bruso tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Factor counters with a head kick. That will keep Bruso thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

Bruso misses with a hook. Factor ducked under it nicely.
Factor throws a lazy right hand but Bruso sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Bruso stalks Factor and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Factor's face. Factor staggers backwards, shaken.
Bruso scores to the head and body with a nice combination!

Max Factor's cut is getting worse.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Factor throws an ugly left hook that misses

and Bruso counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Factor!
Bruso throwing strikes here but Factor is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Factor blocking the ground and pound.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Bruso cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bruso landing punches.

Max Factor's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Bruso throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.

Bruso throwing shots from mount but they're not landing.
Bruso thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Factor is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Factor avoids a series of strikes thrown by Bruso.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Bruso has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Factor's face.

Jeez, Max Factor's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Max Factor's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
