Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Hoshiko Takara (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Harley Reyes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Takara comes to the cage accompanied by Heartbeats. Reyes comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Voodoo Chile (Stevie Ray Vaughan) kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Steve Smith and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reyes darts in trying to clinch
and Takara counters with a stiff right hand.
Takara fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Reyes looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Reyes takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Reyes wants to clinch but Takara slips to the side
enabling Takara to counter with a crisp jab.
Reyes bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Reyes working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
Takara is looking to regain half guard here but Reyes keeps moving and retains side control.
Reyes is looking to take a break and control but Takara is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Takara regains half guard, as Reyes was trying to land strikes.
Reyes has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Reyes has Takara pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Reyes pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Takara tumbling to the mat - Reyes dives into Takara's guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Hoshiko Takara will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Takara uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Reyes has time to react.

Takara leaves Reyes with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Takara looks to land a combination. Reyes sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Hoshiko Takara is winning the standup battle so far.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Takara stalks Reyes and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Reyes's face. Reyes staggers backwards, shaken.
Reyes is rocked!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
BOOM! Takara lands a beautiful left hook that drops Reyes. Reyes tries to recover but Takara is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Reyes lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!
