Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jordan Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Turk Ransel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Smith might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to In Flames - Bullet Ride. Ransel is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by The Pug Uglies- Street Rule. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jordan Smith! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Turk Ransel! The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Elvis Blanc and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Smith stuffs the takedown. Smith tries a head kick but it misses.
Smith defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Ransel. Smith moves into the clinch successfully.

Ransel looks gassed! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Smith pressing his opponent against the cage. Smith pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage. Smith controlling the action here for a moment.

Smith tries to avoid it but Ransel manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Smith to the ground. Smith escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Ransel misses with a double jab.
Smith moves away from the strike by Ransel. Ransel rushes Smith and presses him up against the cage. Ransel on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Ransel pulls guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ransel keeping full guard, as Smith tries to pass.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ransel keeping moving, preventing Smith from controlling successfully. Smith tries to free his leg and advance position but Ransel is retaining full guard. Smith is fighting to break Ransel's control of his arms but Ransel is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Smith wants to control from the top but Ransel keeps moving. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Jordan Smith just wasn't active enough. Ransel lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Smith drives through and clinches with Ransel against the cage.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Ransel shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Smith but Smith pushes him off and we're back to square one. Smith keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Smith throws a sloppy head kick and Ransel moves out of range easily. Turk Ransel seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. The fighters circling - Ransel throws out the jab but it was never going to land. A head kick by Ransel misses and Smith moves into the clinch. Smith misses with a knee to the head. Ransel working hard to break the clinch. Smith tries to land knees in the clinch but Ransel avoids the damage to the body. Ransel blocks a knee to the body. A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Ransel escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Smith seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Ransel is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Smith pulls Ransel in close to prevent any damage. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Ransel accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Ransel cracks Smith with a solid left hand. Ransel controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Smith is trying to control the position from the bottom.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Ransel thows a leg kick but Smith checks it and Smith counters with a head kick. That will keep Ransel thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Ransel misses the shot to the body. Ransel gets in close and instigates a clinch. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Jordan Smith will probably get the nod. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Ransel wants to stand and escape but instead Smith has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Smith sitting in guard, not really doing much. Smith looking to sit in guard and control but Ransel gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Ransel with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Smith is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Smith utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Smith tries to land a sweep but no joy. Smith looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ransel is working Smith over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Ransel throwing strikes but missing. Smith wants to sweep here but Ransel controlling him for the moment. Ransel has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Ransel is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Ransel wants to control from the top but Smith keeps moving. Ransel working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. The fight moves into the clinch position. Smith missing with knees to the body.

Ransel pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Smith pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Turk Ransel is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Smith slaps away a takedown attempt from Ransel, before circling back to the center of the mat. Ransel misses with a wild combination.
Ransel feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Ransel takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Ransel wanted to stand there but Smith had control of the position. Smith manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Ransel tries to hold on but Smith pushes him away. Turk Ransel has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Ransel is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Smith is staying active.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ransel is squirming around, avoiding Smith's attempts to control the action. Smith sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Ransel tries to hold on but Smith postures up. Jordan Smith is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Smith controlling from the full mount. Smith's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
And that's the end of the fight! Turk Ransel comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Smith has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
